Note to author: Surveys don’t equal fact or causation

Some interesting and good bits but mostly just rhetoric. Not hugely original or mind blowing. The useful part is.. always check your thinking- the kind is more intepretive than literal and you may be distorting the situation based on your own history and biases. These can limit you, so be careful. There you go, saved you the listen.

A very long way from Instant Motivation

I really hated this audiobook. It reads like a research thesis, not an enjoyable and engaging book.

The author/reader drones on giving example after example of this and then that and then another example of this and then a reference to that and it goes on and on.

I really struggled to find anything worthwhile here, and what is there is so hidden by the junk and clutter it’s hard to find, especially in an audiobook.

This is a long way from ‘instant’ motivation. It needs a good editor to trim it down and it really needs a new narrator. The narrator has some trouble reading the lengthy sentences often, forgetting they continue after the first example with another example or two and then even more unnecessary nonsense to read out.

If this wasn’t part of a two-for-one, I would be getting my money back.

Great book, bad title

I really enjoyed this book even though I realised half way through it that it had very little to do with the subject of ‘Instant Motivation’. I would recommend it to anyone who wanted to change their perspective and tackle unwanted anxiety that dominates their life, but if you want some ‘Instant Motivation’ try something else.

Excellent book on the 3 principles

Loved this! Have read a few books on the 3P, this one really hit home. Great examples and real life scenarios where it was easy to see the inside out nature of life. Has helped me get perspective on what I saw as life's outter challenges and now see more clearly as my own thinking. Chantal has a gift in explaining this so clearly, without overcomplicating a simple yet more often forgotten or misunderstood fact of life. This explains life as we experience and perceive it. Will revisit time and time again. Thank you Chantal.

Glad I listened to it

Makes a compelling case for happiness being an “inside job” and the importance of mind thought and feelings. Very thought provoking, would recommend

Not about motivation, poorly researched

I am a research scientist, and I usually love self-help and popular psychology books. But I found this one irritating and not helpful at all. The author/narrator comes across as a little arrogant. She repeatedly says, "In my research, I found that...". Her "research" appears to have been a single, poorly-designed survey.
Let me save you time and money: the key message is that you can choose what you think about, and in turn, your feelings and responses to others. That's all you need to know.
