About this listen

Discover the techniques that enable elite performers to perform at their best under immense pressure.

In any high-pressure environment, from special operations to the operating theatre, you can divide people into two groups—those whose performance is controlled from the outside in and those who control their performance from the inside out.

Inside Out is about your ability to achieve incredible things on the outside by paying attention to what's on the inside. In his first ever audiobook, Charlie Unwin shares unparallelled insight into the minds and inner workings of the world's most accomplished performers, including double Olympic champions, special forces soldiers, fighter pilots, surgeons, barristers, chefs, musicians and financial traders.

Combining his unique experience as a performance psychologist with a blend of cutting-edge science and conventional wisdom, Charlie takes you on a journey through the three dimensions that shape your inner world—the Thinking Dimension, the Feeling Dimension and the Intuitive Dimension.

In doing so, he turns the complexities of neuroscience, stress adaptation and cognitive performance into simple and effective training principles that you can use in your everyday quest for excellence. Inside Out will give you the confidence to do more and go further with what you already have.

Just finished a combined/parallel listen and read of the hardback. Taken notes whilst reading and listening. Reckon it’ll take at least three run through to get everything embedded (taking actions consistently whilst doing so). This book gets you motives do so and commit to improving.

Seriously cannot recommend this book enough. Do yourself a favour and get it; absorb it and put I. The work to improve.

Amateurs be inspired. I’ve seen Charlie talk live. His insights gave me a new edge that contributed to winning an amateur national championship. Thank you.

Clear, concise and well presented this book gives an insight without getting too technical and is easy to understand. While listening, I was also realising that the techniques talked about didn’t just apply to sport, but all aspects of life and in helping you to look into yourself and perform at your best across those aspects. I have already applied some of it to the sport I partake in and noticed by focusing less on the results and more about keeping calm and focusing on the performance, results improve without the nerves that can creep up on you at unhelpful times. Recommend to anyone who is looking to improve their performance by taking control of themselves and their thoughts

Clear, concise and can be applied to life in general

Easy to listen to. I have the hardback book too, but this is great to revisit. I am using a lot of the information on a personal level as well as for my clients that I coach. The information has already helped me make simple changes to my coaching practice with very positive results. Thank you Charlie

Will revisit repeatedly to continue my learning
