As a neuroscientist, Marjorie Woollacott had no doubts that the brain was a purely physical entity controlled by chemicals and electrical pulses. When she experimented with meditation for the first time, however, her entire world changed. Woollacott's journey through years of meditation has made her question the reality she built her career upon and has forced her to ask what human consciousness really is. Infinite Awareness pairs Woollacott's research as a neuroscientist with her self-revelations about the mind's spiritual power. Between the scientific and spiritual worlds, she breaks open the definition of human consciousness to investigate the existence of a nonphysical and infinitely powerful mind.

The famous mantra— we are one— singularity, is well explained here plus near death experience during cardiac arrests… gives you a perspective about the bardo and out of body experiences in a scientific way. Maybe we as collective consciousness need to open our minds first before we claim what we don’t understand. Maybe it is just not only a spiritual question if you have the tool and level of consciousness to ask the question in the right way. The whole book is about this.

Singularity well explained

loved it. Author has a soothing voice, but like I always do I drifted off a few times when I was trying to multi task. Will definitely "read" again.

Good

I listened to the whole book, so it kept my attention and held my interest. I couldn't help but feel that the author's mind was just a little too 'open ', embracing ancient texts, mystical practices and experiences, mediumship, distant healing, alternative medicines , reincarnation, NDEs. Of course, she felt that scientists are too stuck in their materialist paradigm to have an open mind. I think we need to aware that 'if your mind is too open, your brain falls out'. A critical, sceptical mind is not a closed one.

Definitely worth listening to, but ....
