About this listen

As a neuroscientist, Marjorie Woollacott had no doubts that the brain was a purely physical entity controlled by chemicals and electrical pulses. When she experimented with meditation for the first time, however, her entire world changed. Woollacott's journey through years of meditation has made her question the reality she built her career upon and has forced her to ask what human consciousness really is. Infinite Awareness pairs Woollacott's research as a neuroscientist with her self-revelations about the mind's spiritual power. Between the scientific and spiritual worlds, she breaks open the definition of human consciousness to investigate the existence of a nonphysical and infinitely powerful mind.

I listened to the whole book, so it kept my attention and held my interest. I couldn't help but feel that the author's mind was just a little too 'open ', embracing ancient texts, mystical practices and experiences, mediumship, distant healing, alternative medicines , reincarnation, NDEs. Of course, she felt that scientists are too stuck in their materialist paradigm to have an open mind. I think we need to aware that 'if your mind is too open, your brain falls out'. A critical, sceptical mind is not a closed one.

Definitely worth listening to, but ....

Such a good informative well researched and well written book.
The information is presented in an easy to understand way and the journey it takes you on is really fascinating and, quite simply changed one’s understanding of reality and existence.

Brilliant book

I love the scientific approach in this book and I think it would make a great gift for someone with a very materialistic world view who would benefit from some "awakening". Some parts about physics are a little difficult to understand when you only listen and would be comprehended more easily when read in the print version. I have just purchased the print version on Amazon to use as a reference and to lend to friends and family. Highly recommended!

A great book for skeptics!

I was quite surprised with the book. When i started listening to the book, the name of it was fascinating, but i never thought it will be rich in wonderful information. I personally don't enjoy too many "testimonial-stories". This book has some, not as much as others, but it really suits the whole thing and keeps your interest. I would definitely listen to it again. Has some good guidance, explanations and such.

Really enjoyed it

A very well written and truly solid piece of work that presents various studies into the nature of consciousness and the mind-body relationship. The book has incredible depth and details, yet is easy to understand. The number and diversity of different studies is also very impressive, and is presented very nicely by the author.

Thank you very much for taking the time to create this wonderful book.
