About this listen

All Beau Montgomery, one of Charleston's most eligible bachelors, wants to do is build boats. He has no interest in marriage whatsoever...until it means he might not get his inheritance and he can kiss his boat-building dreams good-bye. But the hungry hordes of Charleston debutantes looking to score a Montgomery scare him shitless.

Gwen has loved Beau Montgomery since she used to run barefoot around the marina as a scrappy preteen tomboy. Knowing she'll never fit into his high-society family, she decided long ago she'd become his indispensable best friend rather than not be in his life at all. When he tells her he needs to marry in order to fulfill his dreams, she panics that he might actually meet someone, and she'll lose him forever.

I really enjoyed listening to this book, wish there was one that followed on from it though as I feel that there is more to the story

Good listen

this was such a light heart ready about 2 best friend who don't see what's right in front of them. I loved how real they where and how honest they where and that family isn't always right but we value their opinion too definitely recommend

heartwarming

The story isn't what the summary description describes. I was expecting the cliche fake marriage trope, and I enjoy those. Perhaps that's why when it wasn't this storyline, I was confused and got bored. It's more a friends to lovers trope, and contrary to the description it was actually Gracie/Gwen who kept pushing him away, and I found it repetitive, especially when I had gotten over half way through and realised not much had changed. I didn't finish it, but I guess it is an easy listen

Not what I expected

Don't waste your time! Boring, throughly predictable and quite a juvenile story line! Glad I didn't waste a credit.

Boring, predictable, boring

Lovely follow story from Accidental Tyrist - I listened straight after finishing the first book.
I thought Dake the narrator did a better Tristan British voice than in the original book!
O lovely story some what predictable but enjoyable nonetheless.
The author does need to find a thesaurus I think she used ‘Incredulous’ about 17 times
