Time Travel with William Wallace 💕

This is book 2 in this series and is a must listen for anyone who loves Scottish history. This is a well written, fast paced epic time travel love story that is filled with descriptive characters and an engaging plot. I appreciate how the author was very respectful of the history of William Wallace while adding some imaginative scenarios that are both interesting and unique. I especially enjoyed the ending.

The narration by Dave Gillies was very well done. 😊

I recommend this series for those who enjoy midevel time travel love stories. Oh and This book is more for adults as it has some sex scenes and language.

A Brilliant and Stunning Conclusion!!!!!

Would you listen to In the Kingdom's Name again? Why?

I would listen to this audio again! I was very fortunate to also have a kindle copy of this read so I can savor some parts over and over. It's definitely one of those books that elicits a myriad of emotions: I was captivated; I laughed; I listened with bated breath; I sighed and swooned; I cried as my heart was broken and, blessedly, revived. KUDOS to Amy Jarecki for such a brilliantly vivid masterpiece. Amy is one of my very favorite authors and this book is unquestionably a keeper. I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys historical romance.

What was one of the most memorable moments of In the Kingdom's Name?

I had too many to list just one! Every second of this historical tale was memorable. It's a tale of epic proportions featuring a breathtaking time-travel romance that spanned the ages. This story will engross you from beginning to end.

Which character – as performed by Dave Gillies – was your favorite?

I don't have a favorite! I loved both his performance of William Wallace and of Eva. His voicing of each of them was perfection. Dave Gillies is one of my very favorite narrators and he positively blew me away with his performance. When he sang at one point, I was walking and almost sank to my knees as his voice was so stirring. With such excellent narration, I highly recommend that you pick up the audio of this book.

Any additional comments?

This is a series you must read in order. The first book introduces the characters and the settings. The second book continues from exactly where the first book ended. Indeed, Amy outdoes herself at bringing the characters and the period to life as both books are fantastic - blending fantasy, passionate romance and brilliant historical storytelling.

To be honest, I almost dreaded delving into this sequel as I was well aware of William's predestined tragic demise and couldn't bear that fate would be so cruel to this couple. If you feel the same, do not worry. Amy does not digress from history which I appreciated even though I most assuredly shed a slew of tears; Actually, sobbed is a more apt description. But, awaiting at the last was a wondrous HEA ending that was utterly amazing.

"Braveheart" meets "Somewhere In Time"

What made the experience of listening to In the Kingdom's Name the most enjoyable?

I always enjoy historic fiction because it fills in the holes in the stories of our favorite heros and presents their doubts and weaknesses in a way we can identify with. Historians record triumphs and failures but not emotion. This story brings William Wallace to life in a way we can understand.

What was one of the most memorable moments of In the Kingdom's Name?

I can't say without spoiling the story for future readers but suffice to say there is an unexpected ending, both poignant and promising.

Which scene was your favorite?

I enjoyed the peace of the characters while they were in the Orkneys.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Theirs was a love that spanned all time and boundaries.

Any additional comments?

I loved this series. Like the "Outlander" series and "Wuthering Heights" I will listen again and again.

I honestly cannot say one bad thing about this book. It blew my mind , it read like a movie. It had depth , history, I laughed and cried ! I listened to the book in one day I was thoroughly engrossed. I was a hot mess at what I thought was the end of the book .. but yet there was another turn of events. You will NOT be disappointed with this series. It's so nice to read a well written book ...

Amazing

Can I give this audiobook 10 stars? WOW
The story continues from book 1 and what a story it is! Ms. Jarecki's talent with words is amazing. Brought to life by the wonderful voice of Mr. Gillies who is one of my fave narrators with his many voices and passion, the story is vivid like a movie playing in my mind. William and Eva are reunited again by the power behind the medallion. Their time together was not easy and when Eva was pulled back to her time at the most inopportune time, I cried with her. But... they get their HEA in a twist at the end that blew my mind. Thank you for the hours of listening pleasure.

Amazing Story

Where does In the Kingdom's Name rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Amy Jarecki is one of my favorite authors. I have to be honest at first I didn't want to listen to this 2 book series. I just couldn't imagine how Amy would bring the real William Wallace to life and fall in love with Eva MacKay who has traveled back in time to write his story. I couldn't get past Wallace's destiny. But I decided to give it a try and I will never regret it. William and Eva's love story endures so much heartache and romance and I began to hope that somehow William would escape his destiny and history would be rewritten, but of course that wasn't possible. I wasn't expecting the ending and I was so thrilled how Amy brought the series to a close. It was amazing.
Dave Gillies is amazing as ever and when he sings......

Any additional comments?

This is book two of the Guardian of Scotland series. There aren't words to express how amazing this story is. Do yourself a favor and get book 1, Rise of a Ledgen and book 2, In the Kingdom's Name. These two books mix historical facts and authentic details, mixed with a new twist. This complete story demonstrates just how amazing Amy Jarecki's talent is. I loved both books and highly recommend them. Not a series to pass by. Loved it.

Absolutely breathtaking.

In the Kingdom's Name is the second book in the duet Guardian of Scotland by Amy Jarecki. I absolutely loved it, and cannot encourage you enough to get it asap. Heart wrenching, action packed, thrilling, romantic, passionate and beautiful. Most of all it's based on historical facts that really intrigued me as my grandma was from Scotland. A.J built a wonderful story around it that will stay in my heart. Excellent narration made it a 5 star experience.
