About this listen

Penguin presents the audiobook edition of In the Dark by Cara Hunter, read by Lee Ingleby and Emma Cunniffe.

A woman and child are found locked in a basement room, barely alive.

No one knows who they are - the woman can't speak, and there are no missing persons reports that match their profile. The elderly man who owns the house claims he has never seen them before.

The inhabitants of the quiet Oxford street are in shock - how could this happen right under their noses? But DI Adam Fawley knows that nothing is impossible.

And that no one is as innocent as they seem . . .

This Cara Hunter’s second book in the series and it was full of twists and turns .I enjoyed it very much and found it hard to stop listening. The narrators were great although there are some odd pauses when Emma Cunniffe is narrating . Really pleased to have found this author can’t wait for the next book!

This is my second book by this author and I can’t recommend it enough.
Interesting characters, an inspector who keeps his music choice to himself and just gets on with it and no he is not boring
The story twists and turns, just when you think that you have cracked it, it shows you another posinility
I was completely hooked, couldn’t put it down wanted to know the ending but, kept checking how much longer I had and didn’t want it to end

We listened to this story on our drive through France. The reading of the story was excellent as we're all the twists and turns.

Gripping!

We would thoroughly recommend this book. Plenty of twists and turns before the truth is revealed. Thoroughly plausible. Lee Ingleby was excellent. Emma Cinliffe good though less convincing in her narration of the characters.

Wow! As good if not better than Book 1
