Helen Skelton is no stranger to doing hard things, from kayaking the entire length of the Amazon to competing in a boxing match for Sports Relief. Helen grew up on a farm in Cumbria and credits her deep connection with nature and family for grounding her throughout the experiences in her life.

How she keeps going no matter what life throws at her

Humility and humour
Brilliant insight, told with humility and humour. Familiar events from Helen’s career with anecdotes from along the way. Kept me gripped as I empathised and felt compassion with a kindred spirit by the end. Thoroughly enjoyed the book and its candid style.

Excellent
I lived every minute of this book. It is a reflection on so much of my own life and resonant with the trials and tribulations I’ve lived through. I’m nowhere near as adventurous but in my own way I’ve faced trials and tests that could break me but didn’t. Resilience is my motto and boy it’s got me through. Thank you Helen for sharing your story. I think every woman on this planet has a story to be told. I loved your delivery too, it felt as if you were in the room with me. Hope there’ll be a sequel one day x
