About this listen

Mystery short, prequel to Must Love Demons, no romance.

Incubus Nicodemos Azertiran is one lucky demon. He has a best friend. A tiny but livable apartment. And a job at the infamous Marden’s Magic Emporium, a magic shop that only appears in the same place once, and only when a creature is in dire need.

Nico knows all about dire need.

He’s been booted from his legion because his magic runs to happily-ever-afters instead of one-night stands. Not good for lust demon business. Now at Marden’s, Nico is learning to go it on his own.

When Sir Galfridus, First Knight of the Wardens, shows up on Marden’s doorstep, Nico just knows he can help the handsome knight find the perfect item to save the day.

Only one problem. The next day Sir Galfridus turns up dead. Marden’s patrons never die. That’s the whole point. They get the item and save the day. So, what went wrong?

Nico’s about to find out.

In Fair Verona is the inspiration for The Magic Emporium, a multi-author series where each audiobook stands alone, but each one features an appearance by Marden’s Magic Emporium.

Nice little appetizer for the new series! Good story with delightful characters in a world full of magic, demons, unicorns, cherubs amd whatnot!
This was a new to me narrator but I liked his voice and he was a good fit for this book.

Nice start for the new series

Good story for getting know the world and some of the characters, and good to listen as a prequel before Must Love Demons.

Nice little story

So, definitely a great paranormal story with some good world building going on, though the story is about romance there is no romance between the main characters.

However the similarities of a couple of things to a certain Shakespearean play should have given me a heads up to where the plot was going, I always cry at the play and there was a brief teary moment with this story as well.

The ending was all sewed up with a nice bow and I am looking forward to the next book however I wouldn't call this a HEA book because of the side characters ending.

Verona should have been a clue 🤦🏻‍♀️
