About this listen

Jeff Ashton was part of the prosecution team in the Florida homicide trial of Casey Anthony, the single mother accused of murdering her little girl, Caylee. The most sensational courtroom drama since the infamous O.J. Simpson affair, the Casey Anthony trial had people coast-to-coast riveted. In his stunning true crime masterwork, Imperfect Justice, Ashton gives a fascinating and impassioned insider’s account of the investigation, the trial, and the acquittal that shocked the nation, and makes a powerful case as to why allowing Anthony to walk free was a devastating travesty of justice.

brilliant read

Ashton’s epilogue was potentially my favourite part of this book - to remember and honour Caylee is to hug our children and protect them.

Very honest, compelling and sad

The book opened with the verdict and in some ways this spoiled it somewhat as I hadn't heard of the case. However, it was still a fascinating listen with an unbelievable outcome. Author as narrator worked well.

unbelievable

I have read and watched many articles & programmes regarding this case. I remain convinced that the mother (I will not use her name) is guilty. I will not use her name because that is making it still about her. It was sad but good to hear Kayleigh’s side & story. Jeff is a wonderful narrator who made it easy to listen too and I would definitely listen to more books by him. He presents the argument truest and with such passion & sadness for his beliefs. Although I am next to start the opposition book out of curiosity I am remained that it is obvious who is the guilty party. Nobody changes & goes to such lengths to protect lies. And nobody who is innocent would even attempt to make a plea bargin to tell everything. In this woman’s eyes there was only one person she would not throw under the bus & that was herself. He explains the co-dependancy relationship perfectly but in common sense this makes cindy as guilty as the person who committed the actual crime. The jury were obviously more concerned about taking advantage of their privalages than Kayleigh’s story. I would have been asking a lot of questions regarding cindy’s initial concerns, calls & suddenly her alligence to the guilty party. Along with her brothers. And a lot more including her behaviour and when exacting (the date) she was out getting tattoo & taking part in these competitions. Not to mention no questions regarding news on Kayleigh during her phone calls & so much more. So sad; rest in peace little princess. Thank you Jeff.

Brilliant to hear Kayleigh’s side
