I really enjoy the world the author creates with her words. However I found myself frustrated at the sometimes double mindedness of the FMC but I urge readers to have patience as the story answers all doubts after a bit of pain

I was enjoying this story so much but I didn’t have much time to physically read so I decided to combine physical reading with the audio book. The way the narrator voices the main female character was very annoying. I’d been reading her voice as quite strong and assured but the narrator added inflections and tone in places that made her come across as whiny and bratty. It nearly made me stop and get a refund but I really wanted to finish the story. The volume also changes drastically between speech and story and that was quite jarring. So speech is loud and then she practically whispers the story narration which makes listening when driving difficult and I had to rewind it quite a lot.

The narration of all other characters are spot on, and enjoyable.

The chapters do not marry up with the book which caused a slight spoiler so that was also annoying.

Brilliant story didn’t enjoy narration

I am new to this genre and I love it. The way the author writes is so magical her use of language and description is fabulous. I love the characters and their journey through the book. I have read all the books from this author and they do not disappont.

I must also celebrate the narrator as she is second to none and really does bring the characters to life.

Looking forward to the next one. 🥰

Narrated by the ever-excellent Natalie Naudus, Immortal is a graceful blend of fantasy and folklore. No spice here, so if you’re just after the heat, this won’t satisfy your cravings. But what it lacks in steam, it more than makes up for with rich storytelling and a unique cast of characters.

The Chinese-inspired mythology adds a lovely depth to a world that’s already bursting with life. It’s action driven, emotionally grounded, and refreshingly original.

A perfect listen if you’re in the mood for something thoughtful, mythical, and a little different from your usual fantasy fare.

Lush myth and all heart
