Summary

All of us long to know what life after death will be like. Best-selling author John Burke is no exception. In Imagine Heaven, Burke compares over 100 gripping stories of near-death experiences (NDEs) to what Scripture says about our biggest questions of heaven: Will I be myself? Will I see friends and loved ones? What will heaven look like? What is God like? What will we do forever? What about children and pets?

For decades, Burke has been studying accounts of survivors brought back from near death who lived to tell of both heavenly and hellish experiences. While not every detail of individual NDEs correlate with Scripture, Burke shows how the common experiences shared by thousands of survivors - including doctors, college professors, bank presidents, people of all ages and cultures, and even blind people - point to the exhilarating picture of heaven promised in the Bible.

This thrilling journey into the afterlife will make you feel like you've been there. It will forever change the way you view the life to come and the way you live your life today. You'll discover heaven is even more amazing than you've ever imagined.

Life changing

This book is amazing. There's much greater impact in hearing it than reading it, although the reader should have stuck to using his own voice rather than trying to sound like those about whom he was speaking.

This said you cannot help but be influenced and touched by the book. God's love and grace is powerfully demonstrated in this book and I cannot recommend it enough, even as a good book to leave around so the non Christians in your life can pick it up.

Great book

Great book- amazing stories .. I very much enjoyed this book. I could do without the readers change in voices thought out the story. It was distracting and took away from the stories.

I wish a different person narrated.

Would you consider the audio edition of Imagine Heaven to be better than the print version?

No

What was one of the most memorable moments of Imagine Heaven?

High pitched male voice of the narrator.
He changed his voice when he read
the quotes of different people
and it was sort of annoying.
I wish it was read by Dan Woren.

Would you be willing to try another one of Tristan Wright’s performances?

No.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

No. The book sounded so light because of the narrator.

Fascinating to hear of the beauty, love and mercy of the God.

I had recently lost my son to drug addiction and this brought me such comfort to know of the Extricable Mercy of God. Though the void in my heart will never be filled I take comfort in knowing that He is in the hands of his creator. Thank you for writing this book.

must read! it will fill you with hope

I'm a Christian and I love Jesus. I have always been intrigued by NDE ever since I was a little girl. I have read many books but this one written by a pastor with a biblical view was the one book I had been searching for. it answered a lot of my questions. it has been God sent.
it has gave me hope and joy. I read my bible very often almost every day. this book only enhances my belief in heaven as describe in the Bible.

Such a great book! One everybody should hear/read

This is a truly amazing book! It is a great listen and provides incredible information. This book really helped me get through some dark periods in my life over the last 12+ months. It totally renewed my spirit and hope about what is to come and that things will not always be as they are now in the midst of trials and tragedies.

Narration

The narration of the womens’s and children’s voices needs work.
It would’ve been far better for a real woman to do both the women and the child voices. Otherwise the narration was good.

Fascinating book, dreadful narrator.

The narrator tried to mimic accents when reading the various NDEs, and a lisp for one of the child's accounts. This was so poorly done that it was very distracting. I almost couldn't finish it. Very poorly done.
