Summary

"I'll push you." The words came easily to Patrick. But he had no idea of the struggle that lay ahead.

Meet Justin and Patrick. Born in the same hospital two days apart, they grew up together, faced life shoulder to shoulder, and were best man in each other's weddings. It was the way things had always been. It was the way things were always going to be.

But then the unexpected struck - Justin was diagnosed with a progressive neuromuscular disease that robbed him of the use of his arms and legs. As Justin transitioned to life lived in a wheelchair, Patrick stayed by his side, and together they refused to give in to despair or physical limitations.

So when Justin shared his dream of traveling the famous Camino de Santiago - a spiritual pilgrimage through the mountains and rough terrain of Northern Spain - Patrick immediately volunteered to push Justin in his wheelchair. Their six-week, 500-mile trek, with its physical challenges, host of colorful characters, and deep inner battles, would prove to be the most difficult and important journey either man would ever take.

Full of love, humor, and faith, I'll Push You exemplifies what every friendship is meant to be. This epic travel adventure shows the incredible risk and reward that come with trusting someone else to have your back - no matter what. Discover how friendship can push all limits...and help us become the best versions of ourselves.

Life changing

‘Life changing’ is in no way an exaggerated description to what this book was for me. Never have I bookmarked, clipped, reread or highlighted as often as I found myself doing in any other read prior to this one. Its incredible levels of God inspired truth can not be overstated. Thank you, Patrick & Justin, for your willingness and intentionality in showing others, through the telling of this story and of weaknesses had, the path to authentic freedom and joy untold.

What an amazing journey!

I loved this book. I read it a while ago but listening to the authors talk about their journey was just so much more. An incredible story of courage and perseverance with such open and honest introspect. I usually don't re-read books close together but I think I will keep this one close for a while. Not ready to leave the journey.

Deeply Touched by this Inspirational Book

What made the experience of listening to I'll Push You the most enjoyable?

The book was read by the authors, which made it seem more authentic.

What did you like best about this story?

It was uplifting. The two friends did the impossible because they believed that they could. Help appeared when it was needed. I felt inspired and amazed at their story. My take away is, "What is stopping me from pursuing my dreams"?

What does Patrick Gray and Justin Skeesuck bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

It came to life because I could hear the struggle they faced each day as they spoke the words.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Probably not. It was something that I wanted to digest after I heard a universal truth. It made me stop and think. I would have missed that opportunity if I rushed through the book.

Any additional comments?

For anyone who is visual, there is a documentary of this book. I have not seen it yet.
