Summary
Jana Fleischer loves her life - wonderful family, best sister in the world, awesome soon to be sister-in-law, fabulous job, and a never-ending stream of men to chew through and spit out. So what if everyone says she’s too picky and she’s never had a real relationship?
When a chance meeting with Brooke Donnelly leaves Jana literally and figuratively off-balance, it doesn’t take long for her initial annoyance to turn into the first sparks of friendship. Jana always thought she was happy with her life, but the more time she spends with Brooke, the more she realizes something is missing. And maybe not just in the friendship department.
But how do you make that leap when you’ve never even considered kissing a woman, and have spent your whole life avoiding romantic commitments? Being brave, taking the first step, and admitting she wants to try to make things work with Brooke is only the beginning. Whether it’s the beginning of a disaster - or everything Jana hadn’t realized she wanted - depends on if Brooke can also be brave enough....

Brilliant, moving, funny, grown up!
EJ Noyes is rapidly becoming one of my favourite writers in this or any genre.
Her writing is just superb. Her characters have huge depth, they are flawed people who have problems and don't or can't always see their way through them, at least without help.
I loved this book, partly because it features characters from Ask Tell, and Ask Me Again, her novels about Sabine and Rebecca... frankly it was such a delight to my heart to spend some happy time with Sabs and Becca after the traumatic events of the previous books. I am very fond of those two, so it was great to know they are doing fine.
The main character of this book is Sabine's younger sister, Jana, who is an important minor character in the other two books. I want to thank EJ for this, since she could have written about totally new characters, but it was so great to have this special Sabs and Becca time.
Anyway, you don't need to have read the first two books to understand this one, it's a totally separate story, but if you haven't read them... YOU TOTALLY SHOULD!
But, back to this one; I've now listened to it twice, (ej noyes' books always are worthy of multiple listens) and there are so many things to like. The characters are beautifully rounded and detailed, Jana is clever and witty, and the interaction with her sister is a joy to listen to. The love story is fantasy fulfilment (obvs} but still utterly believable and given time to develop. The confusion, doubt and joy of the two protagonists is lovely to read/listen to.
I also loved the reader, she was fantastic. Abby Craden is always great, and read Ask Tell so well, but finding another reader here, who is so good, has given a new voice to Jana, which is important. Obvs, this book has the usual adult scenes, which are beautifully in context and detailed...
I loved this listen, thanks EJ...!

A nice romantic story read by a very good narrator
My title says it all. I have appreciated the novel for its story, which, while touching all the clichés of the genre, is also wholly believable. In fact, even though I am a heterosexual male, I have seen many elements of my own past, such as my relationship with my parents, in Brooke's character. Furthermore, the reader does a really good job of making each character believable, with her or his identifiable voice.

Engaging
I have enjoyed books by EJ Noyes since "Pas de Deux" and this was no exception and Kelsey Navarro's performance is very good and maintains interest throughout.
I liked the characters and the story which was linked to Sabine and Rebecca's stories from the "Don't ask" books (which I have not downloaded yet)
My only negative comment is that I thought it was a bit longer than necessary.

Ask, Tell series book 3, sadly different narrator
I really like this author as you can tell by my other reviews of her other books.
This is the third book in the Ask, Tell series; which tells the story of Jana who is Sabine’s younger sister, Jana also plays a main character in the first two books, and also it carries on the story of Sabine and Rebecca. This is about Jana finding out she is not completely straight.
The book was beautifully written and it was a lovely story and I loved it.
The narrator did a good job, I liked her voice, but to be honest she should have never narrated this book, as this is a series and Abby Craden has narrated the first two books in this series, so it should have been her to continue the series. In my opinion this was a bad decision, as she sounded completely different from Abby Craden and it just didn’t work for me, I felt like it’s not the same characters I followed from the other two books. I started listening to this book straight after book 2 as I was so excited to continue the series, but the voices were not right for the characters so I had to wait a few weeks to read this book so I could listen to a few different narrators so I could try and forget Abby Craden’s voice for these characters. Kelsey Navarro could have done another book or her own series and I would have given her 5 stars. Please correct this error and get Abby Craden to narrate this book, otherwise me and a lot of your fans will be disappointed. I will keep buying E.J Noyes books, and I will keep an eye out for this narrator though as she did have a nice voice.

Another fabulous release from E.J. Noyes!
E.J. Noyes has quickly become one of my favorite lesfic writers. Her books are all so freaking good - and this one is no exception. I'm definitely going to buy the paperback as well but was impatient and elected to start with the audiobook.
First - I'll say I did miss Abby Craden narrating it since she'd done the first two in this series (and all of E.J.'s other books.) Though I know she can't do them all, she had so beautifully voiced Ask, Tell and Ask Me Again and I would have loved for her to do this one too. THAT SAID - Kelsey Navarro did a good job. She's a new narrator for me. The story was so great - and so humorous - that I was in, in, in the whole time. Completely invested. Noyes writes romances so beautifully - and the sex scenes are always ridiculously hot. What makes this series extra special is the loving relationship between sisters Sabine and Jana. They have the kind of relationship everyone wishes they had with their siblings. And there's just so much love between the family and friends in general. And Sabine and Rebecca? Swoon, swoon. It's Jana's story, but we get to enjoy those lovelies some in this release. Overall, great, great. Wonderful story, loved getting to know Jana better, loved Brooke, just loved it in general. 1000 percent recommend!

very good
so this was really good. not my favourite though. it gets 4.5 for story and 3.5 for narration from me. i loved the character of Jana from the Ask tell series, so it was cool to read a story about her. what i didnt love: the constant self reflection was a bit heavy handed/intense at times. the narrator had the right voice quality and she was really good. but i personally can't stand someone pronouncing 'a' 'ay' all the time. for eg a book is ay book, ay girl ay while etc. all the way thru. and mispronounciations like 'langorious'. . its a personal thing, so ignore me if that type of thing doesnt bother you.

sadly disappointed
I am a huge fan of E.J.Noyes but after reading Alone, Ask Tell and Ask me again....I was sadly disappointed in this story. I got the feeling after Noyes wrote 3 extremely emotional stories, she needed some relief by writing a fluff piece. Cause I considered this a fluff piece and I couldn't get through it fast enough.
This story is sort of a sequel to Ask me again.....only to complete Sabine and Rebecca's wedding but the rest is sort of juvenile.
Sabine's sister Janna is, in my opinion, a very annoying character. She cant find a guy she likes and picks apart her dates by little details, like how they hold their fork or calling the restroom the "little boys" room.
She eventually realizes she is attracted to a women and the remainder of the story is how she comes to terms with that. And she talks and talks about it.
The incessant jabbering drove me crazy.....especially during sex. Really, who talks and asks questions so much during sex. I actually started skimming the sex scenes it annoyed me so much.
Im glad Noyes got to take a break from her REAL writing with this silly fluff piece and I will anxiously await her next book. If you have never read any of EJ Noyes books do not measure her writing from this book. She is soooo much better than this.

Loved it
Noyes has a way with words and I find that they tend to be more powerful with each book she writes. I totally love this book If the Shoe Fits is the 3rd book in the Ask, Tell series. This book was way more than I expected turns out that Jana is the star of this book as we look into the pages of this book we find out that it is her coming out story as well as being intertwined with the planning of Sabin and Rebecca‘s wedding who are the MC’s from the first two books in this series Yanni is Sabin sister and when she discovers that she is staring to like Brooke more than just as a friend, boy oh boy does the story start to get good. I feel Yanni and Brooke really work great together as a couple. I loved the story development between these two and there were so many time that I found myself laughing out loud and then to turn the page and just want to cry because the two MC actually had so many moments that tore at my heartstrings I had to put it down and walk away. This book is a sold 5 stars and if you haven’t read it yet what are you waiting for.

Absolutely LOVED the story!
Out of the series, this ended up being my favorite. This book was full of humor, self deprecation, love and romance. I highly recommend!

Great!
I loved If the Shoe Fits. Loved the main characters. Loved the tie in with characters from previous books. Kelsey Navarro does an excellent job with the narration.

So Deliciously Sweet
After the relative grittiness and darkness of Noyes' "Don't Ask" series, I was hesitant to dive into another romance novel by Noyes. Luckily, this one was almost everything I could want in a romance novel. The characters were nicely developed, and I felt that I could like them, and be invested in their happiness. There were funny, sweet passages that made me so nostalgic for young, new love. There were some pretty smokin'-hot sex scenes, too. Ohhhhhh myyyyy!
The narration was pretty good, too. The narrator knew voice acting very well, and was skillfull in cranking up the dramatic tension. My only sticking point is that she badly mispronounced several words. It was actually fairly jarring. It was mostly understandable, as several of the incorrectly pronounced words were more like SAT test vocabulary. But hearing common words mispronounced did grate a bit. Still, all in all, I would prefer her talent for voice acting, over perfect pronunciation, carried out robotically. I have heard more than a few robotic narrators before. This was the better end of the narration skill spectrum.
