Sarah and Michael loved each, but never told the other one. Michael goes over seas and is captured . Sarah has moved on with Lucas, who helped her heal her heart.
Michael is found and rescued but suffers from severe PTSD. He has a hard time readjusting and suffers panic attacks and nightmares. His family and others try to help him and he leans on his faith as well.
Sarah among meeting Michael again, finds her feelings have not left her, she now must choose Michael or Lucas.
