I enjoy Mhairi McFarlane books. This was a nice listen even if it was slightly predictable. Was a nice break from listening to crime.

This is the third book of Mhairi McFarlane I've "read" and I've enjoyed them all. Well written, great characters and a story that makes you want to hear more. I listen to audio books while i run and this made me put my running shoes on and go out a few more times just to see what happens next.

Of COURSE I knew how this story was going to end (and I would have been quite upset if it hadn't happened) but its all about the journey for me. How was I going to be taken there and was I going to enjoy it?

I LOVED every minute. Wonderful, wonderful characters and the most superb heroine, with a trusty sidekick backing her all the way. The irreverent language and witty one liners had me laughing out loud - which must have looked strange as I listen whilst I walk the dog and no-one can see my headphone (only wear one - safety first) under my hair. Listening to this book often felt like a night out with very old friends - something that was much appreciated during a pandemic lockdown.

Sara Novak's narration was faultless. The character's sprung to life and the accents seemed natural and not insulting. Her pace of reading was perfect and she brought the story alive with her enthusiasm. Please, please do more narration work.

Mharie, Sara - thank you. I was happily immersed in this wonderful story, a welcome break from my usual crime thrillers. I will visit your work again.

An easy listening love story. I knew how it would end like you do with many books like this but you still want to keep listening. You can just switch off and listen.
