I didn't enjoy this book as some of the others in the series, maybe because the topic was more gory than some. I also found Sarah Borges a bit irritating at times, her voice was SOOOO upbeat, with a huge smile in it that I felt that it was over the top!

Mainly though I did enjoy this book.

This one seemed much less graphic but it’s been a few months since I listened to the others so maybe I’m wrong. The characters and relationships developed so nicely but the relationships, whilst important, didn’t take over and the balance between that and their actual work roles is very enjoyable. Sarah Borges, who fortunately narrates all the books (except I think book eight of which there are two versions! I listened to hers) was so enjoyable. Picking out the distinct aspects of each character and crime. Author and narrator a perfect combination.

Regretfully not up to the expected standard. Plot started to fall apart about a 1/3rd the way though. But tge interaction and dialogue between the characters, as well as the scene painting make up for it. Look forward to the next edition, but please keep me guessing at least until the last few chapters.

Great prose, poor plot

This is another good book by PJ Tracy. I have enjoyed listening to this book and it's easy to listen to but I think it's missing some more intense excitement, I feel this series of books is just coasting along. Where is the excitement that we read in the first few books. I would still get the next book but I hope it will be better and more about the killer than there home lives.
