Summary

A terrifying ghost story from the Queen of Icelandic crime, Yrsa Sigurdardottir, author of the Thora Gudmundsdottir novels.

'Yrsa is one of the most exciting new voices in the crime thriller world.' - Peter James

The crunching noise had resumed, now accompanied by a disgusting, indefinable smell. It could best be described as a blend of kelp and rotten meat. The voice spoke again, now slightly louder and clearer:
Don't go. Don't go yet. I'm not finished.

In an isolated village in the Icelandic Westfjords, three friends set to work renovating a derelict house. But soon they realise they are not alone there - something wants them to leave, and it's making its presence felt.

Meanwhile, in a town across the fjord, a young doctor investigating the suicide of an elderly woman discovers that she was obsessed with his vanished son.

When the two stories collide the terrifying truth is uncovered . . .

Critic reviews

A chiller-thriller of immense scariness ... Not to be read alone after dark.
Yrsa Sigurdardottir's chillers get better and better. I REMEMBER YOU is a truly creepy combination of haunted house story and modern detection in Iceland.
Genuinely bone-chilling, and proves that as well as being the queen of Iceland crime fiction, Sigurdardottir is a supreme generator of fear.
A chilling read, perfect for a dark night.

Really loved listening to this book, Lucy Paterson is a fantastic narrator and really brought to life all the characters. The book is really enjoyable and kept me listening daily. It actually freaked me out a little and I loved the ending!

Amazing!

I discovered this book already in my library as I was looking for my next from Yrsa to devour. I listened initially in 2021 so decided with my memory, I would probably not remember it. I was right and I think with my new found love for this author, I enjoyed it even more this time.

A spine tingling chiller to make you jump at random noises, when you are listening after dark.

I also love this narrator. Her charachter voices are faultless and her pronunciation of Icelandic words, sound authentic, to my Scottish ears anyway.Switch of the telly, pop in your ear budz, turn off the lights and get ready for a great story. Go on, I dare you! xx

Great creepy tale interweaving 2 stories. Lots of twists and turns and some really skin crawling horror.
There is nothing more lovely than the laughter of a child... Unless you are alone in a house...

Really creepy.

it took.awhile to get going and if I was reading this and not having it on audible I may not have lasted long enough to get to the interesting part. Once it started to get solved it all fell into place and I'm glad I stuck it out.

Great connections
