Summary

During the last desperate days of the Vietnam War, American soldier Israel Broussard is assigned to a secret CIA PSYOP far behind enemy lines meant to drive terror into the heart of the North Vietnamese and end an unwinnable war. When the mission goes sideways, Broussard is plunged into a nightmare he soon finds he is unable to escape, dragging a remnant of that night in the Laotian wilderness with him no matter how far he runs.

Awesome story part war story, part personal horror

T.E.Grau’s voice in this story is spot on, if I didn’t know he’s too young I’d think he’d served in Vietnam. The story is rich and evocative and the voice of Larry Herron the narrator simply brings the whole thing to life.

Slow start quick to finish

Last couple of hours get into the meeting of the story, the narrators voice has a tendency to knock you out, overall it’s a really interesting take on the psychological effects of the war and some of the more obscure elements of warfare and experimentation.
That said it’s an enjoyable story.
