Summary

Geoff Howells, a government-trained killing machine, is brought out of retirement and sent to Hong Kong. His brief: to assassinate Chinese Mafia leader Simon Ng. Howells devises a dangerous and complicated plan to reach his intended victim - only to find himself the next target.

Patrick Dugan, a Hong Kong policeman, has been held back in his career because of his connections: his sister is married to Simon Ng. But when Ng's daughter is kidnapped and Ng himself disappears, Dugan gets caught up in a series of violent events and an international spying intrigue that has run out of control.

Fast moving

Excellent as usual. Extensive research evident. Good character profiles and well paced story line. Stephen Leather never fails to deliver a really great thriller.

Hungry Ghost

I particularly enjoyed this story - goes at a fast pace, is engaging and all very plausible. For the most part set in areas of Hong Kong and the New Territories that I used to know well. One of Stephen Leather's better books - well read and thoroughly enjoyed.
