What a wild ride! Human Statues is exactly the kind of crazy, laugh-out-loud story you’d expect from the pen of Steve McElhenny. Two men locked in an absurd, months-long battle as “human statues,” all for the sake of fame, money, and recognition, it’s a premise that stays funny and engaging from start to finish. That said, I found the narration a challenge. Chase Langley’s style and delivery just didn’t click with Steve's sharp, comedic writing. At times it distracted from the humour, and honestly, if the story itself hadn’t been so good, I would have given up on it. Still, If you can look past the narration, this short story is absolutely worth a listen.
