Summary

Raised in isolation on the magic-shrouded Isle of the Moon, five girls became five sisters. Now women, they are ready to claim their places in the world - and perhaps change it forever....

Flame and Fortune

Sorcha knew the mission was dangerous. Leaving the safe grounds of her brother's kingdom and parlaying with the elves across their border...well, treachery seemed at least as likely as true peace. But to support her sister, Sorcha would brave far more than the underhanded ways of the elves. Or so she thought, before she was taken hostage.

Of course, her captors didn't count on her particular abilities - or on the help of the Woodsman, the mysterious thief who made his home in the forest. He saw the battle from the trees, saw the soldier attacking against incredible odds to save a comrade - and then saw the valiant fighter revealed as Princess Sorcha of Norveshka. He can't tell if he wants to kidnap her or kiss her. But despite Sorcha's stubbornness, his inconvenient honor, and a rebellion on the cusp of full war, something burns between them that neither can let go....

I love Sorcha story

I loved the book. This book is the fourth book in this series. That might be confusing to some people, because the first three were publish by St. Martin Paperbacks. I found it very helpful to have read the first three before starting this book.

This book is all about a women named Sorcha. Sorcha like her adopted sisters grow up together on the Isle of Moon in a world called Aerthlan. Each sister has a magic gift and were sent away as babies for their safety. This book tell the story of how Sorcha finds her place in the world. Along the way she meet a wonderful elf called Woodsman. She must learn to trust herself while finding her true love.

This book takes place during a time of civil war among the Woodwyn kingdom. This part reminds me of the story of Robin hood. With the mysterious circle of 5 behind a lot of the troubles of can be hard to know who to trust. I like that more light is revealed in this book about the 5. I personally can wait to read the last book in the series which will be coming out this summer.

I hope you give this book a chance. I loved every minute of it.
The books in order are
1. How to Take a Beast in Seven Days
2. So I Married a Sorcerer
3. Eight Simple Rules for Dating a Dragon
4. How to Live your Elf
5. The Siren and the Deep Blue Sea

Horrible Narrator

The narrator was awful. All the characters sounded the same, like a British loud angry female, there was no separation, no change in tone, just loud harsh and gruff,, all the time. Will definitely look at future book choices to make sure it doesn't have this narrator BEFORE I buy it.

Horrifyingly cringe worthy?

I am so sorry I made myself listen to this book in order to get my money's worth. It was like having your gran read you love scenes. I really enjoy this author, but this narrator left me nauseated. I may need therapy. I kind of laughed through it, not with amusement but with honest awkward embarrassment. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THE AUDIO BOOK! Rather go for the Ebook to avoid being scarred for life.

Another great story

I completely LOVED this story! The author never disappoints. Her creative mind is WOW! Loved the characters. There’s romance, adventure, action, and a great hint of humor that I thought was perfect in which it can’t go wrong. I can’t wait for the next installment. I’m always at the edge of my seat when the evil shifter makes his moves. They really need to catch him. Well, I hope you enjoy this book as much as I did. I honestly recommend if you enjoy what I previously described.

Sexy Elves, why yes please!!!

If you think elves are the cute little impish creatures that help Santa make toys, think again. These are all male, virile, strong and sexy elves that will have you heating up and ready to love your own elf! The Embraced series just keeps on rolling with excellent characters, intriguing plots and lots of steam! Thank you Kennsington for publishing and sending me such excellent entertainment while I have been stuck at home! I can't wait for the next book in the series to come out! I decided that I needed to listen to this book since I had listened to the first 4 in the series and once again, I am sooo glad I did. I enjoyed it immensely and the narrator does an excellent job of helping bring the well developed (hmmm....yummily so!) characters to life!

They all become simmering idiot's!

I have read all four books. They get dumber, and stupider, and more air-brained with each story. The final book, Meave and Brody's is the last hope.

Though I guess as tales of how destructive lies, non-communication, and superscilliousness can be I believe these stand out as fine examples.

Strong, intelligent women marry and and and every thought beyond babies and beautiful gowns evaporates. Very, very sad.
