About this listen

A delightfully twisty and darkly comic crime thriller, for fans of My Sister, the Serial Killer and How to Kill Your Family

'A fast-paced, tension-building mystery with a shattering finale. Tam Barnett is a name to watch.' Daily Mail

I'm obsessed with true crime. All the podcasts, the documentaries... I can't get enough.

And now there's a murderer on the loose where I live. What a rush!

Of course, some people might wonder if it's me. Am I an innocent soul with an unhealthy fascination, or a deadly psychopath?

It's the killer question. After all, I would love to know how to get away with murder…

Tam Barnett's debut novel is perfect for readers of Katy Brent, CJ Skuse or Bella Mackie.

I’ve not written a bad review before but I felt I needed to with this story sadly. I listened to the entire book and really wanted that spark moment but, unfortunately, it didn’t happen and I found both the main character unlikeable with both the plot and ending written poorly and predictable. To top it off, I couldn’t stand the narrator and felt her attempts at the accent she was trying to portray was terrible.

Amazing book that keeps you engaged and on the edge of your seat. Had me laughing out loud and had me shocked it’s a real emotional roller coaster. Amazing debut novel from this author and you wouldn’t be able to tell it’s wrote that well.

For the first time I disliked the main character and over the moon how it ended. She so deserved it! Audio was a bit too much for me , over performed for my liking, too theatrical. but just bearable.

Audio a bit too much

I disliked the main character so much, and the narrator's performance, I stopped listening after 5 chapters!

couldn't finish!

This really hooked me and I ended up listening to the second half of the book in one afternoon! The story is pacy and packed with twists along with a deeply satisfying array of nods for true crime fans. The performance is just as great and added so much personality to the narration and characters. Kudos to Tam Barnett and Imogen Church!

Engrossing story wonderfully performed, highly recommend
