Includes advice and anecdotes from agents, publishers, comedy writers, stand-up comedians, best-selling authors and popular columnists to help you be the writer you want to be.

Would you listen to How to Be a Writer again? Why?

I would definitely listen to this audio book again, because I resonated with the story.

What did you like best about this story?

As a writer myself, I felt as if I was sitting down in a pub having a pint with the people who were interviewed. It was a very laid back and relaxed story swopping event.

What about David Quantick’s performance did you like?

I enjoyed David's performance as he seems like a really nice chap.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes.

Any additional comments?

I highly recommend this book, if only to make you feel that you are not alone as a writer, and give you an encouraging shove along your journey.

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

Fascinating interviews with a wide variety of authors, though some chapters were, admittedly, skipped, because I felt like that particular interviewee did not hold my attention.

What other book might you compare How to Be a Writer to, and why?

Any writing craft book would compare.

What three words best describe David Quantick’s voice?

Clear. Friendly. Ironic.

Do you think How to Be a Writer needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

No, because it answered its own premise that there is no one way to be a writer. Everyone does it differently and you find your own way.

Any additional comments?

The interview segments were irritating when David would read out his answers like a transcript, stating their names each time.

There is no one way...

Really interesting but bizarre that a book made up entirely of interviews doesn’t actually feature the interviewees voices! Buy the book but not this...

Great book, bad audiobook
