Summary

It was supposed to be a prank. A silly frat boy dare.

One hot moment in a hidden storage closet. One kiss. No consequences.

But if you get that close to a man with fire in his eyes, you’re gonna get burned, and I was no exception. One taste of Grey Blackwood ruined me for life.

The way Grey sees it, I was the one who did the ruining. I humiliated him. Wrecked his life. Destroyed his future.

Doesn’t matter that he’s clawed his way back and then some. Doesn’t matter that he’s already top of the Wall Street food chain. The man’s ruthless. Heartless. And he likes his revenge served cold.

Now he’s taking down the companies owned by every frat boy who did him wrong. And when he comes for my family’s company, the quiet life I’ve built for myself far away from Manhattan comes crumbling down, too.

But when Grey’s standing in our boardroom, threatening a hostile takeover and demanding I negotiate on behalf of my family, I don’t see an enemy. I see the chance I’ve been waiting for.

The chance for another night in his arms, and hopefully a whole lot more.

Let the negotiations begin.

Hostile Takeover is a full-length, standalone novel.

One of the best enemies to lovers mm story

First of all disclaimer I love Lucy Lennox and she is an auto buy for me. She writes some of the most quirky, snarky characters and she has such a great catalog of wonderful books.

This is a stand-alone enemies to lovers mm romance that hits all my sweet spots. Ellison is a sympathetic MC who did something that caused Grey to hate him so much that he did a hostile takeover of Eli’s family company to take revenge. I love how she got them into situations that really build up the tension and gives me the feels.

Thank you Lyric for casting Teddy as Ellison and Sean as Grey. They really elevates the story with their narration. I never thought I love the awkward Teddy so much! Alpha and growly Sean is always so fun to listen to.

I relistened to the third act of the stories thrice because I just love it so much. If you like a well written, smart and well researched story that has quirky characters and gives you all the feels, this is the book for you.

I really enjoyed the narration of this book.

It was hard to put it down and have to deal with real life. I pushed throughout a day of work but then stayed up till 2am to finish it. I couldn’t put it down. Ellison and Grey were so good together. The snark. Play on words and the feelings between these two felt so real. You knew Grey needed someone like Ellison from the first book. He needed someone to ground him. Ellison whose is by-curious but only for Grey. These two set them selves up for a fall but then fall even Harding for each other. Great read.

Teddy and Sean 💘

Lucy Lennox, Great choice for narrating pair on this one. Teddy and Sean did great justice to their characters. Definitely not as hostile as I thought it would be but I enjoyed the story and it kept my attention throughout. HEA for the duo was what we all wanted to happen and the details leading us to that ending were detailed and fact filled. well worth the credit and your time to listen.

Missing Michael Dean

This story is highly enjoyable. I can see why Lucy wanted to switch up the narrators and while I love Teddy and Sean, I wish Michael Dean would have narrated this book. I hope he will narrate the rest of her books going forward.

Great narration combo

I love this book! I haven't been listening to alot of Lucy Lennox lately from being super burnt out on M.D.'s narration. Which sucks cause I really like Lucy's books. It's not angsty, has a good bit of snark, and pretty hot. LOVEEEEEEEE Teddy and Sean. More please !!

Wild!

We get two of the best narrators in the business telling the sexy as all get out story of Ellison and Grey. And let me just say their story was good. Really, really, good. Also, the plot of the story was clever. I enjoyed this story and the voices these two amazing narrators did with bringing Ms. Lennox's characters to life. I highly recommend. You will not be disappointed! Enjoy!

enjoyed it

Would I listen to it again: yes
Did the story keep me engaged: yes
Was I invested in the characters: yes

📖 Story comment: Good pace, likeable characters, nice flow. I was entertained by the story and enjoyed the banter between the characters. I liked that this was more about the development of the relationship and wasn't overloaded with unnecessary sexy times.

🎧 Narrator comment: Both Teddy Hamilton and Sean Cristen are excellent narrators and have both done a great job of Hostile Takeover. They suited the characters and captured the 'feel' of both characters similarly enough so the alternating POV chapters didn't feel disjointed (so for that they get 5 stars).
Personally though, I don't understand why a M/M story needs two narrators when either narrator is more than capable of bringing the story to life his his own. I get why an author/publisher would consider multiple narrators for M/F - but for M/M when you're using a narrator who can perform multiple character voices clearly, for me, it just doesn't need it and I would have preferred just one narrator.

Very enthralling story!!

My first 4 stars lucy lennox book ever!

I always give a 5 stars to lucy and although the story was capturing and interesting as expected of one of my fav author it didn't bring me a satisfying ending *sigh*

Moreover, not having MICHEAL DEAN as the narrator was a blow because even though I am also a fan of Teddy and Sean was good too... It felt like the story wasn't brought to full life and I always had that niggling at the back of my back saying that Micheal Dean would have done MUCH better! ( plus I have a hard time connecting to a story with two narrators *cry*)

All that aside I really recommend this book as it really is Worth the credit! <3
