You can save hundreds of lives.
Or the one that matters most....
The atmosphere on board the first non-stop flight from London to Sydney is electric. Celebrities are rumoured to be among the passengers in business class, and the world is watching the landmark journey.
Flight attendant Mina is trying to focus on the passengers, instead of her troubled five-year-old daughter back at home - or the cataclysmic problems in her marriage.
But soon after the plane takes off, Mina receives a chilling anonymous note. Someone wants to make sure the plane never reaches its destination. They're demanding her cooperation...and they know exactly how to get it.
It's 20 hours to landing.
A lot can happen in 20 hours....

Absolutely phenomenal!
I flew as cabin crew for 7 years, and am often frustrated and annoyed by works which are set in this world. However, the author has captured the detail with such accuracy, that I could settle in and enjoy the story without being constantly irritated by things that just wouldn't happen, or weren't right. I'm also a mum, and the way in which parental guilt and family dynamics are explored in this book, moved me deeply and had me in tears on more than one occasion. Out of nearly 300 audible listens, this is the first time I've been compelled to write a review. The characters, flawed in believable and very human ways, felt like real people. Fantastic book. Well done, Clare Mackintosh, I'm off to download another of your books now!

Excellent story
A really good story line but spoilt by the narrator not even attempting to change her voice for the different characters.
Shame as this would have been 5 stars.

much better than some reviews suggested
I love Clare Mackintosh's books so had to get this one. I was a bit worried I wouldn't enjoy it as some reviewers didn't like the narrator. I thought she was really good - although I always listen to my books on 1.50! The only reason I didn't put 5 stars is because I found some parts rather long with nothing really happening. I loved the last three hours especially - and I understood the biscuit bit at the end (which was something another reviewer wasn't sure about so I made sure I concentrated in the very last few lines.

Gripping
loved it. listened in ned, in the car, whilst walking and whilst sunning in the garden. if I had the hard copy book, it would in no doubt be a one-sitting page-turner.

Narration spoils this book
Not a bad story, though it takes quite a while to get to the tense parts. But it really needs a male narrator for the (substantial) chapters told from a male perspective. It also needs a narrator who can perform a ranges of voices/accents as everyone sounded exactly the same.

Enjoyed - but could've been better
Took me a while to get into the storyline developed pretty slowly but then I became gripped with what was going to happen next as it became very twisty turny, which resulted in good ending.
BUT I was baffled as to why only 1 single narrator was used for a story with multiple characters. Personally, think it would have been so much better and easier to follow with 2 female and 2 male narrators, instead of a sole female narrator who used the same monotone voice for every..single..character !

Very predictable
I really like Claire Mackintosh’s books, but this was disappointing. I skipped a few chapters, just to finish it.

just a whole wow
I was hooked from the opening chapter - and it was finished in virtually 1 sitting because I just had to stay on the rollercoaster to the very end! I had to find out. What a thrilling ride that rollercoaster was - all those twists, ups and downs to the climax (or what appears to be the climax) then the gentle, calm straight before the final twist up over the summit with a hold the breath plunge to the final paragraph reveal and sudden stop. I am breathless! my only criticism would be the narration. As this narrator didn't change her voice at all, which made it confusing on whos part of the story was being told at times, it might have been a better listen with a male narrator too. But just what do I follow this book with?
