A new, painfully shy, jockey takes over and the trainers try to take him under their wing; but it proves very hard. The family of three headstrong women in the village each have their own problems with returning exes, children or lack thereof and work. Good listen.

Could not bear to stop listening. Just the right number of characters and separate plots to keep you wanting to hear more. The narrator demonstrates an impressive number of voices. Can't wait for the next book by the same author and hopefully read by the same narrator

Written in the style of Jilly Cooper, with many expressions and descriptions used by that lady, but the knowledge of the equestrian work is lacking and the story weak.

The narrator’s emphasis is wrong too, eg tack ROOM, rather than simply tack room.

Wouldn’t buy another book by this author.

This was the first audio book I had purchased from Audible. Once I got started, I couldn't turn it off! The narrator is really good and really captures the characters well. I have to admit that it does get slightly confusing as the majority of the female characters' names start with a 'C' but the more you get into it the better it is.
