About this listen

Bella is living her best life in Wynbridge, with her beloved Spaniel, Tink. She’s found a way to keep the house she inherited from her grandparents while expanding her dream business – Away With the Fairies – and she’s ecstatic that Christmas is on the horizon!

In fact, everything is perfect until family friend, Catherine Connelly asks Bella if she’d be willing to rent part of the house to freelance author, Jude who is researching the history of the Connelly Clan and Wynthorpe Hall ahead of turning his findings into a book. The plan had been for Jude to stay at the hall, but he can’t cope with the chaos and Bella reluctantly agrees to open her door to him.

Initially, the pair clash but then friendlier feelings begin to grow and Bella finds herself wondering if Jude could become more than just another guest before it’s time for him to leave. That is, until he announces he has no time for Christmas!

With her favourite time of the year suddenly in jeopardy, will Bella ever feel like she’s home for Christmas?

These type of books are highly predictable but lovely to listen to anyway. Heidi writes a great story and the narrator never fails to make it sound good. Always leaves me with a warm feeling.

Another lovely listen

Lovely book, performed perfectly as always by Karen Cass. It’s not, in my opinion, quite as absorbing as some of Heidi Swain’s earlier books. The story has less depth. But a nice enough bedtime easy going listen.

Good feeling seasonal story

I absolutely loved this story and the characters, some of it made
Me cry especially the brief conversation regarding Victoria known as Plum, as this was my late Daughters name and nickname by her dad too, I wasn’t expecting that -so it took my breath away quite unexpectedly as I shed a tear to my own beloved Daughter Victoria Plum in heaven. I couldn’t stop listening to the last 3 hours, I even had to listen to it whilst driving and doing housework and I love the reader Karen too, she really brings her characters to life, I enjoyed the writing in first person, that was really interesting and from a person who remembers seeing fairies for real as a child, I loved this story so much.

I absolutely loved the story and enjoyed how Karen read this.
