Summary

From the incomparable Nora Roberts comes a classic, heart-warming tale about the enchanting Christmas season.

After years spent abroad, reporter Jason Law returned home determined to win back the heart of the girl he left behind. It would take all his skills - and then some - to convince Faith Monroe that he was the man for her. But this time, nothing would stand in his way. All he needed was a little faith!

Loved it!

I'm a real sucker for the sappy ones and even more so for Christmas stories. Life has enough stress and tragedy and reading is an escape from that. it may be old fashioned but I want my "entertainment" to be happy ever after and this story fits the bill!

So cute

Quick and fun listen. It was a bit predictable, but that didn't stop it from being a cute story.

Very Good Story Set During the Holidays

Not a bad story. I really did enjoy listening to it. I can't say I really could relate to the characters because there were no similiarities between their lives and mine, but it was still a very enjoyable listen. It doesn't hurt that there is a HEA ending to the story, although you would not have guessed it until the final chapter.

Will Damron does a fine job of narrating this holiday themed book. His pacing was just right and all of his voices were distinct and believable. I just might have to listen to more Nora Roberts stories, especially if Will Damron is the narrator.

Told from the male character's POV

Nora Roberts has written this book in the voice of its main character, Jason. Although it was republished in 2014, I read that it was originally published in the late 80's. So perhaps the author was trying out various plot devices at the time. This one doesn't work for me. Nora Roberts appeal is to write female characters that we can relate to and be inspired by.

Also, since this story is from his view, it is understandable that the narrator is a male. Again, though, that doesn't work for me but I do give the narrator credit for a good try with the female voices.

Not what I expected.

I didn't realize I was getting a short little story when I downloaded this book. So that was my poor observation and I take responsibility for a hat. It was somewhat entertaining but lighter fare than I was wanting. Not the depth of story and character from Nora Roberts I am used to.

HOME

As usual, Nora did a terrific job. Think I’ve read or listened to everything she has written. Wish she would write more often. Too long between books.

Creepy voice

The narrator seemed to try too hard to animate his voice. He ended up sounding serious and a little creepy. The story is cute and quick. A woman would’ve sounded much better as narrator.

Nice Story

I had guessed the big secret early on. Faith is painted as a strong, independent woman who is concerned about the long run and her daughter. The way her character was portrayed made me question the arrangements and forwardness of her night with Jason. Otherwise, I enjoyed the story all wrapped up nicely.
