About this listen

By the international number one best-selling author of Tell No One and Fool Me Once, soon to be a major movie starring Julia Roberts.

The boy who had been missing for 10 years was right in front of him....

A decade ago kidnappers grabbed two boys from wealthy families and demanded ransom, then went silent. No trace of the boys ever surfaced.

For 10 years their families have been left with nothing but painful memories and a quiet desperation for the day that has finally miraculously arrived: Myron Bolitar and his friend, Win, believe they have located one of the boys, now a teenager. Where has he been for 10 years, and what does he know about the day, more than half a life ago, when he was taken? And most critically: what can he tell Myron and Win about the fate of his missing friend?

Drawing on his singular talent, Harlan Coben delivers an explosive and deeply moving thriller about friendship, family and the meaning of home.

Harlan Coben has to be one of the best writers ever. I really enjoy his stand-alones but there has always been something special about the Bolitar stories. I have just finished listening to it and still have tears in my eyes.
The narration was very good- it took me a few minutes to get in tune with who was but after that I felt the narration added to the story.

This was a really witty book despite the sadness. I enjoyed getting to know Win better. Win is the speaker in the last chapter and the moral question he posed really makes you think.
Brilliant

What a wonderful reunion with loved characters

I will say that the story keeps you engaged and encourages your mind to create all manner of possible scenarios as you 'guess' your way through to a whodunit conclusion. Suspicion as to the truth comes in the later chapters so the story does not lose its hold on you too early. Having read so many of his books, I had created characters within my own mind that were a tad more serious..Win was portrayed with a little too much flippancy for my taste, but the narrator did a good job of separating characters and delivered voicechange and intonation well; which made the book a pleasure to listen to.

Enjoyed but a little disappointed with ending...

I love Harlan Cobens books and this one came up trumps! The story didn’t end up where I expected it too, which is always a bonus. I couldn’t stop listening!

Fantastic!!
