This is the second installment in The Pursuit, a series of standalone steamy romance. Justin and Lucy's story is passionate, fast-paced, and entertaining. Their story is filled with secrets, and twists and turns. This is a series of interconnected stories, and it was great to see familiar faces from the first book again. Ava Erickson and Mason Lloyd did a great job bringing this story to life. I'm looking forward to listening to Dangerous Pursuit, the next in the series.

A fun second chance holiday novella that kept me on the edge of my seat as they figured out how to make things work. The characters were fun, and the storyline was done in a way that felt like a holiday movie outside the normal mold they tend to follow. I listened to this one on audiobook and both narrators did a great job with these characters. Their voices really fit and made these characters feel all the more real. I look forward to the next book in the series to see what comes next!

Lucy works for Sebastian Dubree and was drawn to Justin who is security consultant for him as well. They spend an unforgettable night together which Lucy believes will be the beginning only to never hear from him again. When her parents are determined to match her with someone they deem appropriate a little too much alcohol has her contacting Justin to ask him to pretend they are together.

Due to events that transpired after their night together Justin distanced himself from Lucy and has regretted it ever since. When she needs a favor he is all in and he plans to use their pretend relationship to give him a second chance for real.

Lucy isn’t about to just forgive and forget what happened, but Justin is determined in his pursuit and the attraction between them is stronger than ever. Ava Erickson brings out the strength of Lucy as she is a woman who knows what she wants while Mason Lloyd brings the swoon of Justin who only wants the best for Lucy even if he doesn’t always make the right choices.
