About this listen
She’s my boss, and she’s a stone-cold fox.
Two months ago, I lost my boat, my cat, and—with my leg in a cast—my income. Until I can walk again, the only job I’m fit for is one few have survived.
See, my new boss has a reputation. She's grumpy, no-nonsense, and runs a tight ship. Keeping a firm hold on a movie budget does require nerves of steel, after all. Especially when disaster strikes.
When she yells at me, all I hear is the passion in her voice. All I want in those moments is to kiss her until she can't think straight.
And then convince her that it's okay to fall in love with me.
Fans of 1990's movies like Swimming with Sharks and Beautiful Girls will love this slow-burn, boss-assistant, younger man older woman, entertainment biz, 1990’s office romance from USA Today bestselling author Karen Grey.

Helen O'Neill is the boss everyone wants to avoid. However, after a traumatic boating accident, Sullivan Calloway knows he needs to accept whatever he can get. Sully worked in show business for years, so he knows his way around a set...even if he has to maneuver on crutches. Helen is on deadline and she is relieved to have the help, but she cannot believe the nerve of this guy. He stands up to her when no one else can. That only makes him all the more attractive.
If you've been waiting to hear more about Sully from You Get What You Give, this book is a treat! Sully meets his match in Helen, and gives her a run for her money.
Audio Review:
Mackenzie Cartwright and JF Harding bring the characters to life. Mackenzie gives Helen a fierce air, but allows some softness to creep in as she evolves. JF adds flair to the broken pieces of Sully's psyche. Both narrators gave a nuanced performance that allowed the characters to breathe.

It was the first time that I have ever experienced one of Karen Grey's books and I have to say I am totally impressed.
This is book 2 within a series of books and unfortunately for me I havent read book 1..But honestly it made no difference.
I had no trouble following what had occured in book 1 it was explained perfectly throughout.
This story centres around Sully Calloway and his new boss Helen O'Neill.
After being in a boating accident Sully is down on his luck, feeling depressed ,he as lost everything and now he has an injured leg and can't do much about anything. That is until his friends intervene and help him get a job...I loved the friendships within this book and the banter between them all.
The job being Helen's P.A....Helen has a reputation in the movie making industry as being a bitch and she cannot seem to keep people employed with her. That is until Sully,he has no experience at all with desk work, but she is desperate and hires him regardless...Plus he doesn't seem to let things get to him and is immune to Helen's outbursts.
But a surprise road trip together to retrieve Sully's broken boat changes their relationship forever...lines get crossed and there is no turning back.
This story is wonderful a work place romance with a bit of forbidden because they are colleagues and an age gap trope, because Helen is 10 years older than Sully...Yay for the older women out there.
I loved the way Sully did not care about the age difference he is attracted to her, likes her and nothing else matters.
I LOVE Sully and his calm demeanor,he is romantic and sweet and super sexy,I liked the way he talks things through and tries to work things out calmly and logically.
Helen appears to be so strong and sure of herself she is tough but there is a vunerability to her and this comes to light when she tells Sully what happened to her when she was younger.
The Narration to this book is EXCELLENT.
Mackenzie Cartwright and J.F Harding are phenomenal their narration is smooth, clear, precise and so expressive I thouroughly enjoyed listening to them. They made this story come to life perfectly they are so Amazing,it was such a pleasure to listen to their voices.
One thing I took away from listening to this book is that Karen Grey is a briliant storyteller, her writing is so captivating and you easily fall in love with her characters.I enjoyed it so so much and look forward to reading and listening to more of her books.
This is a wonderful audiobook and I highly recommend it.
Loved it.
Who knew making a movie could be so much fun.!

Both characters have a hurtful past story to tell and when all comes to light both understand each other, better than many others would.
Thank you to Mackenzie Cartwright and JF Harding for an emotional and fun narration.

As mentioned, book 2 is about Sully and Helen. After a boating accident, Sully is struggling physically, financially, and emotionally, and is left to recover and deal with all that comes with it. He needs a new job as he is unable to continue his old one due to his injuries. One of his best friends, Dani, sets him up with an office job working as an assistant to Helen. Helen is the sexy older movie executive who is solely focused on her career and has no time for love.
Reverse age gap and office romance? I’m in!
