About this listen

Elizabeth Zurlo is lost. She's a wife, a mother, a teacher, a PTA volunteer - but somewhere along the way, she has lost herself. Depression and despair can lead to desperate measures, and when she is pulled back from the brink of suicide, Elizabeth slowly tries to rebuild her marriage and reclaim her life.

Just as she has finally started to put herself back together, a scandalous novel rocks her small town...and costs Elizabeth her social standing, friendships, and ultimately, her marriage. However, the man who seemingly destroyed Elizabeth's life helps her realize who she is and what she needs to do to become the woman she's capable of being, and the woman she used to be.

Wow what a rollercoaster of a ride. Could you only imagine your whole town turning on you all because they think they know things about you. Yet they know nothing. Small town drama at its best. Fantastic narration.

The story of Elizabeth, her life of drudgery, spiralling into a depression, before events take over and things get worse. I really related to her in so many ways, so meek and putting everything and everyone before herself, I could not stop listening to this, worrying for her, following what would happen next, and hoping she would come out of it all I the end. Also, beautifully narrated too.

Hold Her Down - could not put this down!

This is a book I can relate to a certain way, as a mom, a wife and with a fulltime job.
I really liked this story,

I have listened to a few books by the author Kathryn R. Biel and it´s just something about them that talk to me.
The narrator Lisa Beacom does a very good job/work.

A story about what would happen if a famous romance book was written about a member of the PTA. Thought provoking and original. I could relate to the heroine but also felt she blamed all her woes on everyone except herself. A good listen that makes you think.
