About this listen

A salute to blue-collar rednecks who make this country run.

Following his newfound fame for apprehending plastic surgeon to the stars and serial killer Dr. Vanderlay Mukerjee, Gary moves back into the five-million-dollar mansion he bought with his lottery winnings. What was formerly Turpentine Acres is now Kensington Gardens, an upscale community that frowns upon Gary's lawn ornaments and Confederate flag.

But when a 1,000-pound feral hog begins savaging Kensington Gardens, the HOA calls on Gary to deal with the monster. Gary must also contend with wild hippos, a swimming pool full of iguanas, a robot buffalo with alien multiple personality disorder, and his girl Krystal's upcoming wrestling match with the transgendered thing called Xue.

“Mike Baron has crafted a comic masterpiece of a novel. Unforgettable, colorful cast, sustained comedy gold on every page.” (Chuck Dixon, author of the Levon Cade Series)

I guess the other reviewer was right - narration in this book was very poor and made all characters sound similar and stupid...don't get me wrong, the characters are meant to be rednecks but there was no charm in this rendition at all. Plot also went quite whacky but I guess that's just Florida for you!

Poor narration, whacky plot as usual

I couldn't get into the beginning, maybe just not. I couldn't concentrate at the beginning, but suddenly my brain switched on and great fun.

Entertaining fun outlandish fun

loved the first book in this series, this was a rubbish follow up with very difficult to listen to narration.

I got this book having run out of Hassan and Dorsey books. This is just garbage. A hateful main protagonist and now invoking sentiment beings, mutant animals, and at the end the fountain of youth which can bring people back from the dead. Drivel.

Utter nonsense
