Summary
Prague, ville où Rilke passa son enfance, est sans doute le personnage essentiel de ces deux récits. Le roi Bohusch et Frère et sœur, constituant ces Histoires pragoises, comptent parmi les tout premiers textes de Rilke. Nourris d'éléments autobiographiques, ils évoquent l'atmosphère qui régnait alors à Prague, et, en particulier, l'émergence du sentiment nationaliste anti-allemand de la jeunesse tchèque. Ces pages, écrivait Rilke, "m'ont rendu cher ce que j'avais à demi oublié et elles m'en ont fait don. Car de notre passé nous ne possédons que ce que nous aimons. Et nous voulons posséder tout ce que nous avons vécu."
