About this listen

Includes five bonus epilogues never before published!

Welcome to The Shepherd, where your darkest desires are our utmost delight. Follow the lives of ten broken men as they couple off and find true love in each other. This collection includes all five books of the His Command series, and features five bonus epilogues never before published—one for each book.

Obey: Omega rehabilitation counselor Owen doesn’t need an alpha in his life... but that doesn’t stop Crawford from giving him his collar.

Beg: Recently liberated from omega rehabilitation therapy, Lucian’s only just learned to say “No.” It’s too bad that night after night, Marcus makes him whimper, “Yes!”

Stay: When an accidental pregnancy forces troubled omega Adrian to bond with Sterling, the alpha he hates, the arguments aren’t the only thing bound to get hot.

Heal: Broken omega Gabriel needs an alpha to hold him together, to love him, and to give him a family... and professional Dom Cedric just might be the man for the job.

Breathe: When a scorching online relationship leads to an unexpected pregnancy, Oli has to decide whether Marshall’s terrible secret is something he can shoulder, or if he’s better off alone.

Few series move me in the way this one does. I have listened to every single heartbreaking-to-redemption story this story has to offer quite a few times, and I rarely listen to or read anything more than once. I say give this series a chance, and you will not regret it. The writing and narration are simply perfect.

This is an impressive collection of omegaverse novellas, each focusing on a different couple with their own dynamic and a connection to the BDSM club The Shepherd.

Obey - Owen + Crawford

Owen and Crawford have an instant connection and their story is definitely the least complicated or angsty of the collection. Owen feels conflicted about the dom/sub nature of his and Crawford’s relationship because it clashes with some of his beliefs. I liked their story but felt it was a little underwhelming at times.

⭐ 3.5/5

Beg - Lucian + Marcus

Lucian and Marcus are one of my favourite couples from the collection. I was intrigued by the glimpse of Lucian that we got in Obey and was excited for him to get his own story. I really liked the dynamic between him and Marcus and thought that Lucian’s history was handled well. I also liked the way that the ending conflict was resolved.

⭐ 4/5

Stay - Adrian + Stirling

Adrian is not a very nice character in Beg (to say the least), so I was interested in how he was going to be redeemed in his own book. I thought that Stirling was a great match for him and appreciated the deeper dive into Adrian’s character. While I still found his actions very hard to relate to, I liked being able to better understand where his motivation lay.

⭐ 3.5/5

Heel - Gabriel + Cedric

This is probably the heaviest plot in terms of subject matter. Gabriel is an incredibly conplicated character with a devastating past. Like with Adrian, I found his actions very difficult to relate to but somewhat understood his motivation. I loved Cedric and his and Gabriel’s relationship. Their HEA was harder fought than some most of the others and so felt particularly satisfying.

⭐ 3.5/5

Breathe - Oliver + Marshal

Oliver and Marshal are my other two favourite characters. I really felt for these two - besides Gabriel, they probably had the hardest obstacles to overcome to get their happy ending. I particularly loved how funny Oliver is, I found myself laughing out loud at his continuous attempt to use humour as a coping mechanism. I would have rated this one higher but was a bit shocked by some of the more risky sexual practises they engaged in towards the end (which I felt like they probably shouldn’t have done in Oliver’s condition?)

⭐ 4/5

Overall I had a good time with this and thought the narrated did a great job. And you know I mean it because I listened to all 35.45 hours of it (I don’t think I’ve even listened to any of my loved one’s voices for that many hours).

Overall rating: 4/5 ⭐

An impressive collection

Story: A great collection of diverse stories with the same theme. Every couple and tale felt unique and each gripped my attention without issues.
Narration: Very good performance.

Great collection!

I forgot how much this series had going for it. It's very high heat, but it's also so much about healing and the emotion behind that. It's exploring who you are after that's been taken away from you and falling in love with yourself right alongside someone else. All the stories bring something to the table, but my favorite is definitely Breathe!

Sweet, Steamy, Emotional

These stories are so good. I own the individual audios but never finished all of them. I was so happy that I was given a review copy of the boxed set which includes three special epilogues that weren’t part of the individual audios.

The stories are emotional and a little thought provoking. Michael Dean did a fantastic job performing them.

I loved this series!
