Summary

Much-Afraid begins her journey, crippled and disfigured, with the cry, "Oh, if only I could escape from this Valley of Humiliation altogether and go to the High Places." She leaves her Fearing relatives behind, and presses on to the Realm of Love. As the Chief Shepard explains, no Fears can live in this realm, because "perfect love casts out fears and everything that torments".

Written on a similar scale to the great classic Pilgrim's Progress, you'll travel along with Much-Afraid and her companions, Sorrow and Suffering, as they make the ascent to the High Places where the King of Love reigns supreme. And, you'll discover that as the journey transforms Much-Afraid into Grace and Glory, your heart will be changed as well.

too cheesy

I love this book so was looking forward to listening. unfortunately the audio sounds cheesy and takes away from an excellent story.

A good listen

I really enjoyed listening to this story/allegory of the journey to salvation and leading a christian life but the narration gave it a 'Disney' feel which didn't do it justice.

Beautiful Master Piece!

I read the hardcopy many years ago and was so deeply impacted. I'd been looking for the audio version so I was so glad to get this . Beautiful book indeed. It brings to life the intanglibe but real experiences we encounter in the process of growth in the Kingdom of God, and shows practical godly responses we are to have in order to succeed God's way.

Beautifully read too

love it! Thank you Hannah Hurnard.

Excellent

Really enjoyed revisiting this book in audio format. In general I think the narrator does a good job with a range of voices although I found Much-Afraid a bit too ‘girly’ at times. Love this allegory- truly inspired.

Beautiful book of love and forgiveness

One of my favourite books, beautifully written and narrated. Based on Solomon's Song of Songs, Hannah Hurnard really captures a wonderful book of love.

Beautiful…

I loved the way the book was read, the content material expressed the very real fight that there is within, to surrender wholeheartedly to the Will of God, through Jesus Christ.

Simply an excellent and inspiring book.
