Summary

Sometimes losing is the best thing that can happen to a guy. When a hot, sexy gamer geek obsessed with winning meets his match in a sassy, take-no-crap "cook", sparks fly and a game served spicy begins.

Micah James is tall, excessively handsome, a brilliant success as a top video game programmer, and a jerk of the first order. Used to flashing a smile and a wink to get whatever he wants, Micah knows what he wants right now and it's for the local supermarket deli 'cook' to be his personal chef. What he's not ready for is the battle of wills he'll soon engage in when he meets his match in Nori Blackmon.

Nori Blackmon is sassy, curvy, and determined to make a success of her life - not matter the cost or sacrifice. She has little time for the spoiled, good-looking frat boy demanding she drop everything to come work for him as his personal chef. His arrogance knows no bounds, and his inability to take "no" for an answer rubs her the absolute wrong way.

When their worlds collide, neither is ready for the perfect and powerful chemistry that exists between them or that a love like this can form between two people with such different lives and dreams.

Him & Her is a contemporary love story between a man and woman moving in different directions until fate intervenes to offer them a new one - with each other.

Actually really easy and good listen

Initially was not sure about the male leads cockiness but started to like his geeky side as the fall in love.

And more twists than I thought! Come on book 2!

Awkwardly Eh...

While his geekiness was quite comical in some instances, this was the most unbelievable story ever. Like so unbelievable I was almost offended at how it attempted to insult my intelligence about how these two met and moved in with each other on the same day... All because the food was good at Whole Foods. (Say whaaaaat??) Then the first of two "steamy scenes" that took WAY too long to get to- were so painful to listen to with all of the unrealistic dialogue... like seriously, who does all of that talking about fresh breath and "aftercare" right in the middle of the act? Chile, please! It was just bad. All bad! The narrator was pretty good when she was in character for female, but as the male... it's a hard pass! It was like listening to hours of a low moan whenevere "he" was talking...which was most of the book. Not a fan of it at all! Then finally, the suspenseful cliff hanger at the end was almost enough to make me want to hear more, then they said "To Be Continued" and it was a sure nuff nail in the coffin for me. Another audiobook that I am glad was included in the Romance Package because I would have never wanted to pay for it.

Potential; Never Lived Up To It Though

So this book started out good. Loved the characters and their personality, but the story was just lacking. I was intrigued with the interracial romance aspect; however, turned off with some of the stereotypical "black girl" quirks. For instance, once they finally got together romantically and Micah touched Nori's hair and she responds, "Don't touch my hair" then Micah remember his friend told him not to touch a black girl's hair without permission... super stereotypical. If a black girl is being intimate with someone, allowing them to love up on her, she will NOT take issue with her hair being touched. And the Romance Package definitely need not to rate this as "Hot Damn"; more like "Sizzling".
