Summary

"Suddenly, all those old country love songs I’d played so often made perfect sense.”

Gravel-voiced Gibson Bodine takes his lone wolf image seriously. The tough guy. The bad boy. He lives alone. Works alone. His one love - besides starting a good brawl - is sitting on a rinky-dink stage in a backwoods bar playing guitar and singing about things he’ll never have. When a video of him playing goes viral, Gibson ignores the unwanted attention. He’s got bigger things to worry about. Like the bomb his half-brother’s mom just dropped on him. And the fallout from the memento he’s been carrying around for 13 years. He doesn’t have time for fame...or love...or meddling neighbors stopping by with casseroles and questions. But one night in a bar, 50 miles from home, he meets her. And she changes everything.

In Bootleg Springs - home of the best moonshine and nosiest neighbors in West Virginia - secrets don’t keep. When the truth about Callie Kendall’s fate brings danger home, it’s up to Gibson to step up and be the hero. And maybe find what he’s been missing all along. Love.

incredible story. absolutely fabulous series.

5*++
Gibson is the eldest of the family and has always felt responsible for them. The effect of his drunken father has had a huge impact on his life.
Callie's disappearance 13 years ago is still throwing up people's curiosity and rumors circulating throughout Bootleg Springs, especially after the discovery of a picture of Callie & Gibson was found inside his wallet.
Mia Davis has been tasked to try and get Gibson to sign up for the record label she works for she's got a good record for signing talent up.
When Gibson spots her he feels a connection to her but he's never seen her before.
I've loved reading this series and was ecstatic to listen to them on audio.
The narrators truly fetched the book to life.

The PERFECT Finale

I've loved EVERY book in this series. I especially loved how seamless the mystery flowed from one book to another. And giving the hardest nut to crack (Gibson) the last book in the series was genius! The narrators were absolutely fantastic, too. Natalie Duke and Stephen Dexter helped bring this book to life. And can I just say how freaking awesome the extended epilogue was?!? I can't say enough about the entire series. It's a definite must read and listen to.

A great ending to the series

The ending of the Bootleg Springs series has arrived with Highball Rush. Many, myself included, have been waiting for Gibson's story and the conclusion to the series-long mystery.

I was a little apprehensive going into the book that everything would be answered satisfactorily while still giving Gibson and his heroine a great romance. This book wrapped everything up nicely without sacrificing their story/time together.

Just as with the previous books there is a lot of humor, Bodine family awesomeness, and sweet moments between the characters we have all come to know and love. Now that all six books have been released I want to reread the series to see if I can pick up on any clues I missed along the way. I also hope that the dynamic writing duo of Lucy Score and Claire Kingsley give us another series in the future!

Natalie Duke and Stephen Dexter were perfectly cast! I loved listening to them bring the characters to life.

Stephen Dexter and Natalie Duke Are all the Things

First off this story is the culmination of an intriguing mystery that's been going on through the series. Gibson is gruff and kinda grumpy on the outside, but an artist at heart. Who knew he had been holding information and keys to the mystery? This telling is just the icing on the cake of a great series acted out by the perfect narrators.

Bootleg Springs belongs in every library...

Enjoy the moonshine and the ride!

Grand Finaly

What a great ending to the series. Once again Dexter killed it as Grumpy Gibson and Natalie playing her part...don't wanna spoil it.

Perfect end to Bootleg!

Gibson may be quiet and moody in the other Bootleg books but his love and dedication to his family quietly shines through in his small gestures . Gibson is my favorite of the brothers and I couldn't wait to read his story. It didn't disappoint.

This book helps answer many mysteries from the series. It has everything you can expect from the series - humor, romance, a little mystery, and Bootleg Justice.

I quickly read my way through Gibson's story. He took great care of his heroine while she rediscovered her confidence and healed past wounds.

The rumbling, growly Southern twang performed by Stephen Dexter for Gibson is swoon-worthy. Natalie Duke makes our heroine come to life with the emotion she puts into her performance. Both narrators have a versatility that provided unique and fitting voices for all the characters, They smoothly transitioned between characters without hesitation. Wonderful performances!

This is a must read/listen!

Great conclusion to the series

First thing to note - you want to read this entire series in order. While each book is a self-contained love story with an HEA, there is an interwoven mystery that spans the 6 books, and you do yourself a great disservice if you do not read this book last. You absolutely must read this book last!

Gibson Bodine - what can I say that would adequately express how amazing this man's development has been? Gibson has always been the grumpiest of the Bodine brothers, and his transformation throughout this book was amazing. You understand how he became the grumpy guy we all loved throughout the series, and you understand why he has distanced himself from the rest of the town. They say that you are your own toughest critic, and Gibson is definitely that. For years, he's been harboring a lot of resentment, self-doubt and general self-worth issues that make him feel like people will only ever see him as "less than" even if that is not justified. Luckily he finds a woman that helps him break that funk and truly experience love.

I have to say that this is the best first hug I've ever written. Before the couple even gets down to the first kiss, their first hug hits you right in the feels. You really experience the connection, and that's before they even go down the romance path!

The audio of this book is just amazing. Stephen Dexter and Natalie Duke narrated this entire series, and they really captured the unique personality of each character. Gibson is a grumbly, recalcitrant man for a lot of the series, and justifiably so. But he really softened some as the books went on, and you could feel that in Stephen's performance. Natalie gave each of her characters just the right amount of spark and sass for their unique nature, and that's true here as well.

This is a fantastic series finale that leaves you happy, satisfied, and glad that Bootleg Justice has been served.

Bootleg Springs Series

Possibly/Probably the best series I’ve listened to (and I’ve listened to a lot). I love anything narrated by Stephen Dexter, esp when it’s southern. Natalie Duke also does a great job in this series. I also love the mystery that carries over to every book in the series. Great job, ladies! I hope you write another series together.
