Oh my goodness!!! what a story. I thoroughly enjoyed the first book with Janie so was really excited to read the prequel to find out what Becky was actually like. Such a gripping, sad, thrilling tale with such unexpected twists. It has made me want to reread The Perfect Child now I have more understanding & perspective. The performance from the reader was great & easy to listen to.

I absolutely loved this! I always listen to Lucinda Berry,s books on audible as the narration is perfect. This is the pre sequel to The Perfect Child a story that will stay in my mind forever .. thanks Lucinda!

Brilliant pre sequel

I’m a big fan of Lucinda Berry and was really excited over the prequel to The Perfect Child. I listened to the first two again so it was fresh in my head. But tbh I found this so disappointing.

It just didn’t grip me the way The Perfect Child did. Not sure if I was expecting too much. There was the twist about the Grandmother which wasn’t too bad but I just found it a bit meh.

I definitely wouldn’t re-read it or recommend it.
