Sophie Lark... take all the Stars! You knocked this series out of the park, definitely one of my top 10 2021 reads.
Yelena Yenina is the daughter of the latest Russian Bratva taking up the reins in Chicago's Underworld, and like any good daughter, she's been working Sebastian Gallo on her daddy's orders but the connection she feels with him is real. After an injury during the Griffin/Gallo feud before his sisters arranged marriage, he's been a bit lost since losing his Basketball future. A chance meeting with the stunning Russian Bratva Princess leads to a proposed alliance between their families but its never so simple. Yelena's clipped wings never felt like a cage as long as she had her brother, but the aftermath of this union alters the entire course of their future, and finds Sebastian picking up the crown to become an Italian King of the Chicago Mafia, the real question being after the blood is dry... would his new wife be his Queen?

Sebastian surprised me with how he was with Yelena. Not just when he was sweet but when he was angry and upset as well. They had great chemistry. They seemed to match one another well despite the challenges they had to overcome.
The plot really made some major moves in this book. There were definitely some shocks and some twists that I didn’t see coming. I was consistently at the edge of my seat waiting to see what would happen.
Michael Gallagher and Kat Auden did a great job with their narration. Everything from pace to pitch was smooth and flawless.
