A man magically bonds a woman to him for eternity as his "mate" without considering it necessary to explain what he's doing or get her consent. He obviously viewed it as his right to do so and didn't think enough of her to involve her in the decision. He also comments about them having children as if she has no choice in the matter which (since she's essentialy enslaved to him by that point) she probably doesn't.
The fact that she doesn't so much as question it, speaks volumes for the author's lack of belief in the concept of informed consent and freedom of choice for women.
At least the sex was mutually consentual so, if overblown and overdescribed porn pushes your buttons, this could be one you'd like.
Personally, I think it would have been a far better story if he had found himself mated-for-life (bearing in mind he's immortal) to a woman who now knows he's a piece of crap for taking away her right to a choice in the matter and dedicates her remaining years to making his life hell from that point onward.
