About this listen

Ty Golden and Vic Black are done with dating, determined to take control of their own lives, and completely unprepared when love finds them.

With an independent, makeup-wearing younger twink and a mature, protective, cardigan-wearing man, Hearts Afire is a steamy, slow-burning age-gap gay romance.

This is the second book in the Forged in the City series.

A.D. Ellis did a super job in the second installment of the Forges in the City series. Like it when on series cover a variety of stories, not to different but each having its own unique story. Ty & Vic where great characters to get to know and the supporting characters where just as amazing as the first book. Although I think the book can stand alone, it is best enjoyed as a series. Bob Brill did a great job with the narration, hope we can look forward to more of his talent in the future.

Great Addition

This one really built itself well, there was the delicious torment of a slow burn romance and the reward of watching the characters finally realising they could trust each other. This may be a slow burn but that doesn’t mean there is a lack of chemistry from the very first chapter I was invested simply from the chemistry and the main characters trying to figure out how this could work when both are nursing scars.

I’m not usually as intrigued by one character being older than the other but I did find with this one that it was well done and not over the top. Can’t wait for more by this author.

Brilliant and beautiful

Story: Loved it! Just like book 1, this story brings a pair of awesome, complicated characters! The whole found family concept in the background adds a great layer of comfort to the whole picture and the plot itself is very enjoyable!

Narration: Great voice. I am impressed with how enjoyable the narration was.

Great story!

A.D. Ellis has delivered a good sequel in the Forged in the city series. This is May-December love story about two men who are afraid to trust to love (again). They, Ty & Victor, know eachother from a friend's art studio where they both place consignments. They find love when they least expect it. The narrator, , Bob Brill, did an excellent and lovely job, without going overboard. Good distinction between characters.

I loved this second book in the series, even more than book one.
Ty and Vic have an 18-years-old age gap and neither of them are looking for a relationship. They both have been hurt in the past and are seemingly content with their jobs and their circle of friendship, until they meet each other.
I loved the development of their relationship, from the first tentative dates to Ty becoming more and more confident and asking for what he really wants (hint: it’s Vic!).

Age gap and a lovely story.
