About this listen
Nicky Henson reads this hilarious new comedy from the bestselling author of The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel
The irrepressible Russell "Buffy" Buffery has upped sticks from London and moved to Knockton, Powys, to a B&B inherited from an old flame. With his future spread before him, and a string of failed marriages behind him, Buffy decides it's time for a new challenge.
Meanwhile: Harold's wife has run off with a younger woman leaving him alone with his as-yet-unwritten novel narrated by Mary Pickford's cat; Amy's weedy boyfriend has turned out to be not so needy after all; and Andy's partner's corset-and-suspender-clad attempts at seduction are having anything but the desired effect. They're all lost with nowhere to go, and feeling well past their sell-by dates. So they decide to enrol on "Courses for Divorces" in a sleepy rural town. Under Buffy's tutelage, they find themselves relearning all those skills they never thought they'd need again, and a whole lot more besides.
©2013 Deborah Moggach (P)2013 Bolinda Publishing Pty LtdThere are so many people in this book, each having individual characteristics and a life gone by.. All ages and all interesting with hopes and dreams. Not slushy more down to earth and funny too. Loved it.
A pleasure, love all the different characters.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I liked the book because it was easy to lsiten to and lighthearted. Most of the characters were older and it was nice to listen to their life experiences and hear about the scars these had left.Who was your favorite character and why?
Russell 'Buffy' Buffery, was my favourite character. I liked the way that he makes a go of running Myrtle House the dilapidated bed and breakfast in rural Wales which he is surprised to inherit. It is also fun that not all his plans work out quite how he expected.Which character – as performed by Nicky Henson – was your favourite?
I definately liked the Buffy character best.Feelgood lighthearted read
