Summary

Max Lucado invites you to examine the cross, contemplate its purpose, and celebrate its significance in He Chose the Nails. Go ahead and linger on the hill of Calvary. Rub a finger on the timber and press the nail into your hand. Taste the tinge of cheap wine and feel the scrape of a thorn on your brow. Touch the velvet dirt, moist with the blood of God. Allow the tools of torture to tell their story. Listen as they tell you why the hope of all humanity balances on the truth of the claims of the cross. See just how much God did to win your heart.

Ben Holland is the perfect narrator for this book!

Would you listen to He Chose the Nails again? Why?

YES! in fact i will listen to it over and over again depending on where i am with my "walk". If you want to be reminded just HOW MUCH God loves you and what Jesus did on cross...and how we are all just like one or more of the disciples who followed Jesus, listen to this book immediately.

What was one of the most memorable moments of He Chose the Nails?

at the end of the book, when Max says to take all your worries, fears, and look at the cross, feel the velvet red dirt that is stained with Christ's blood...i cried; very emotional.

What does Ben Holland bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I felt like he had a deep connection to the material himself.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Again, the ending.

I enjoyed hearing this inspiring book. The narrator performed with exceptional diction, pausing as needed. His voice was soothing. It has brought new insights to my thoughts!

Relax with Max

This was an excellent representation of the Max Lucado I was first introduced to in the 80s. He has a smooth soothing voice, is exceptional at providing imagery, and he delivers comedic relief with dry wit. Max is a straight shooter who successfully manages to engage his readers by providing relatable anecdotes of daily living with biblical exegesis. A man who truly loves God and is highly favored and gifted to reach multitudes with aplomb. Well done. Do yourself a favor those of you new to faith or who are well-seasoned. No disappointment here. Except....the book and narrative ends.

Deep called to Deep with this one!

This book gave so much of a deeper perspective to Jesus, what He did and the significance behind it. I've been a Christian for 22 years and I've never heard of the details of His love and sacrifice put so eloquently! Thank you Max for listening to the whisper of God in just how to put this together!
