Summary

Naomi seems to have everything. A beautiful daughter, a gorgeous house, a perfect life. Behind the scenes, though, she and her husband are drifting from one another and struggling to conceive their second child.

Then, Naomi meets a parent at her daughter's nursery. Sean understands her, or so she thinks. Looking for a connection, for a friend, she joins him at a swimming lesson with their children. That day, Naomi makes a terrible mistake.

Weeks later, when Naomi attempts to contact Sean, he has disappeared without a trace. But as she begins to piece her life back together, it becomes clear that someone else knows her secret. Someone who wants to make sure she never forgets what she did at the pool.

An intelligent, searing and addictive thriller about family, desire and the lengths people will go to for the ones they love the most.

Would have been a great story...

...IF the author had not ruined it by including an annoying young child and too much about pregnancy?! Just diminishes a perfectly good mystery.

Loved this. Superb twists and details

This contemporary thriller was recommended to me by a friend and it was fantastic. Surprises and subtle nuances throughout.

Slow start be patient

The first trimester is very slow and a couple of times I almost returned the book. The plot and story unfolded more in the last sections of the book making it difficult to put down. The performances were good and made the listening more intriguing. Overall a good listen

Brilliant!

Wonderfully written and full of twists and turns. The characters are very human, and the story ever enticing. I definitely recommend this book.

Excellent

First time for a C C Macdonald read for me and i really liked it. I can't think of anywhere in the story where it went off the boil so to speak. One of those books that you just didn't want to put down,. When you are having a book read to you, the narrator/s have to be smack on and they certainly were. Recommended.

Disappointed

Rather long winded and a bit predictable. Had this on to fall asleep and found that it didn't matter how much I "missed" I could still follow the boringness. Disappointed.
