Summary

Great timing for a mental health book!

It is so important to give yourself compassion and no one talks about this in our ever striving world. I loved the exploration between self esteem and self compassion. Very interesting link.

I often struggle with my own emotional and mood regulation via food and nutrition, so it was a fresh take to see the mental/emotional aspect of this.

Resilience is often overlooked in this day and age as well. I love that the author went there. Such great information!

Excellent audible workbook!

From listening to this audiobook, I have learned many new methods on how to practice self-care and self-compassion, and I am starting to see the benefits from it! This is more than just a workbook, as the author dives much deeper into how we can be happy in our lives and how we can achieve this happiness by dealing with bouts of depression and building mental resilience. I liked how it is mentioned in the book that we are not supposed to be happy all the time, and this is a normal part of being human. As a society, and our peers can put pressure on us to portray happiness all the time, even when it's not there.

I gained a lot of value from the sections on the elements of self-compassion and the strategies for improving your self-esteem. I have always found it difficult to practice these important elements of life, and from following the tasks laid out in this workbook, I am finally starting to reap the rewards and feel so much better. I recommend this practical guide to happiness to anyone looking to gain a better sense of fulfillment in life!

Tons of useful exercises

The book had tons of exercises and strategies to improve self-esteem, regulate emotions, deal with depression, and build resilience. It also introduces the concept of mindful self-compassion and provides strategies for integrating mindfulness into daily life. At first, it felt overwhelming to me to have to do all of these things, but this book presented it in a way that seemed very doable. These are exercises that can be incorporated into daily routines.

This book is a good overall guide for you to understand and find happiness in life. Build the foundation of self-compassion leading to contentment and meaning. A Guiding Light Through The Fog of Mental Health

As someone who's navigated the tumultuous seas of anxiety and depression, the journey toward mental well-being often felt solitary and enigmatic. I Highly Recommend This Workbook for Self Care

This is a high quality resource for taking better care of your mental health. I appreciate the workbook approach, giving you a tremendous amount of practical input and guidance. An attitude of compassion permeates the book in such a way that the attitudes and methods you are advised to practice are modeled toward you as you listen. As someone who has worked extensively in a helping profession where your own self-care is paramount, I strongly recommend this book for that purpose.

This book can help you find your happy place again

Love and happiness are so intertwined, and loving yourself first is the fundamental building block to reaching your happy place. This book weaves real-life stories with insights and strategies for how to live a happy life while reinforcing how important your mental, physical, and mental well-being is.

The narrator was engaging and making the book very easy to listen to. When I am struggling to feel happy and satisfied, I will certainly turn back to this book to remind me how to get there.
