I first read this book in my early teens. I remember loving it and I remember 2 of the scenes, both of them harrowing and the feeling that the book gave me. I was well used to feeling it in real life. the feeling of dread coming home everyday wondering what mood my mother would be in.

I think the book will be triggering for anyone who suffered in their early years. But oh, what a story.

so well portrayed and read by the Narrator.

I am now moving on to the next book in the saga with hope and excitement that Maisie is a stronger, happier person.
