Summary

Everyone has habits. Some of these are good, others are not. Considering that we are all defined by our actions, it is important that we lose our bad habits. By doing that, our lives will be much better. Unfortunately, losing a bad habit is not that easy.

The kind of life we lead today is essentially the product of our habits - our daily routines - our daily processes. And no one has ever described this natural phenomenon more accurately than the great Greek philosopher Aristotle who said, “We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence then is not an act but a habit.” What we repeatedly do - the things we read and think about and the routine tasks we perform every single day - is what shaped our beliefs and transformed us into the kind of person we are today. It is what molded the type of personality we portray. In other words, our whole life is nothing more than the sum of our habits. How successful or unsuccessful we are is the result of our habits, just as being physically fit or unfit is.

By changing your habits and tagging new ones onto existing ones, you piggyback your way to opening up those neuron areas and increasing the range of your own possibilities. If you don’t think that this is true, then you really do need to examine the contents of this book because you will learn how habits work and how tagging another habit to an existing one can improve your life in so many ways that you never thought possible. In fact, the potential was always there, but you have limited it by seeing the canvas as overflowing, rather than blank and filled with possibility. You limit yourself by thinking in this way, but if you can piggyback your new habits onto existing ones, you can increase the neuron activity in your brain and reap the benefits.

Take action today, and change your life. Be the better version of yourself by building empowering habits!

Poor performance mars the experience

Lots of mistakes throughout, including a full chapter that sounds like a rehearsal. Decent book, poor performance.

Practical, clear, excellent!!!

Love this book. The idea of setting daily goals that are so small that it literally by-passes your resistance and tendencies to procrastinate is brilliantIt made sense to me and as usual for me, I overdid, coming up with about a dozen good habits I wanted to acquire immediately. . I'm fascinated by any way to reprogram my mind, develop new and healthy habits and this is a straight forward tried and true way to do it. Guise presents a deliciously easy way to achieve the goals, feel like a winner, and spur yourself on to building on these new habits. Amazing body of work I thought this book might help me get more focus and motivation. For a few bucks what was the harm and I figured it was another tool in my mental arsenal.

This Book is Necessary!!!

This book really challenged the way I think. To be honest, I haven't implemented much because I'm still struggling to find my passion. If you ever felt like there is more to life than this and need to figure how to access it and engage more fully; then this is the book for you. This is not a feel good read, although it is a great listen. I found the mini habits concept really helpful, and the application to weight loss practical. I had never considered that the body resists big change, and that small changes allow you to trick the body into reaching your goals.

This book changed my life.

I found the book powerful and useful. listen it through once start to finish, am now skipping through it a second time, making notes. There are thousands of self-help books on the marketplace and I am not aware of a single book that is more successful in its mission than this one This book was easy to listen , but managed to delve deep enough into the complexities of procrastination to finally open my eyes and shift to a more productive - and satisfying - way of functioning. He brings in mindfulness techniques, cognitive behavioral therapy, and a great deal of empathy to his work. Buy it and try it!

Why this book is a must listen.

So many great ideas in this book. It will take me a few years to integrate many of them into my life. I have already firmed up my workout consistency by identifying myself as "a person who never misses a workout." Add in the small, incremental change over time and I can imagine finally changing myself into the person I always knew I was capable of being it is very easy to listen and apply to your everyday living. He give you powerful tips, encourage good habits, and inspiring true stories. I just received my book and definitely look forward to listen it.

This book will change your life.

The book has a good balance of references, arguments, and concepts. There's a lot of useful information and it is presented well. I'm using some of the ideas to help me in my own life and within a course I'm designing to teach a skill This is a great book! I started experimenting with some of the ideas presented even before I finished it. I've been working on moving more as a priority in my life and this has really helped. Using ideas like "Make it obvious" I leave my exercise equipment where I will see it immediately to use at the right time. I "make it easy" by just doing 2 minutes of the dreaded exercise which has spurred me on to many more minutes of doing what I need to do.

The End of Self-Help!!!

Listen, I am a family and lifestyle medicine physician who has been fascinated with improving lives by helping patients improve their lives which ultimately comes down to behavior change. I have devoured hundreds of books looking for a format to present to my patients about habit change and I finally found it! Fantastic book. I've finished it and I'm grateful I purchased the physical book over the Kindle because this is a manual that I will go back and consult frequently. "Not another recycled book on habits..." This was my initial thought, but I was mistaken. This is the first habits book that gives you a practical plan for adding new habits, improving existing habits, and removing bad habits

I'm also doing the better life challenge.

This is a really good book filled with personal life stories as examples. This is one of those books that you will want to listen over and over again. I love that this book is different from all of the other 'millionaire' mindset books out there. There are exercises to develop confidence as well as a roadmap to show you where and how to go, which is essential if you really are starting at square one. This book is amazing. I'm only just beginning the book and challenge to reset my thinking. It's all positive Well written and easy to understand. Great book with many stories to relate with. Lots of excellent tips and ideas which when implemented can definitely get you on the way to great success.

This book changed my life.It will reframe how you think about each day. This book was easy to listen, but managed to delve deep enough into the complexities of procrastination to finally open my eyes and shift to a more productive - and satisfying - way of functioning. An absolutely incredible look into the how and why of personal accomplishment and the motivation movement. A must listen for those that want to be competitive in a world of complacency, lethargy and entitlement. This was most excellent. It really gave me insights into why I procrastinate. I received many useful tips and strategies.

As good as short, or even better.

You can instantly tell that the author of this book has worked with people in active habit change, and isn't just book smart. The format is very action-oriented, with each chapter first telling you how to tackle the next step, then SHOWING you how to do it I don't usually write reviews but this book is really good. This book is short but it combined the essence of a lot of good books on habit. I know because I read a few of the books.

These principles apply to everyone.

This book was both inspiring and easy to listen .It offers proactive tips and promts for each habit. This book has a way of opening your mind inward and really helps you to think introspectively. I can't wait to share this book with my family when I return home this weekend. This is such a good book because it uses research to explain how habits are formed and changed. Do something enough and it becomes a habit, good or bad. This is explained in the book. I was most interested in how the book described changing a habit Awesome book. Easy to follow habits with positive vibration.

This book can simply change your life.

This shows the usual diets as the sham that they are and offers habits you can adopt for a lifetime. Time will tell if it works, seems you still need a bit of motivation to change your habits For everyone who struggles with weight-loss and cravings a must-read book. Seriously, in my estimation you wont find a better weight loss strategy anywhere else. Three months later, I am 11 lbs lighter, while never feeling deprived or missing any food I like. The strategies in the cravings chapter are invaluable to me. I highly recommend this book.

Come with an Open Mind.

What an amazing book to help out just when I needed some inspiration. I am one of those people always looking to biohack life and get more out of it. This book gives me not only inspiration but applicable skills to move! It gives not only opinions but actual habits to adapt to get more out of every day I was excited to he had another great book hit the market. When I received it I was like. I normally don't get excited about a book like this. The topic yes, but usually the layout and length makes it a book that I'll buy but never really dig into. If you ever felt like there is more to life than this and need to figure how to access it and engage more fully.

Top Quality Information.

I generally have good will power but that is because it became strong through use. I didn't realize that until I read it in this book. I've tried to have small goals at work, which weren't working. I generally have good will power but that is because it became strong through use. I didn't realize that until I listen it in this book. I've tried to have small goals at work, which weren't working. Quick read with a number of examples and anecdotes. Some fluff in the book but the first couple chapters had good research. One habit a day done consistently is already showing benefits in my life. This book is well written, easy to listen, and filled with great content. I have extended its principles to other areas of my life. It has been a great positive influence on me.

Great insights in an approachable form

I love this book. I've been reading a lot of books lately to help me with my health, work habits, and schedule, and this one added the final touch I needed to improve everything I'm not even half way through this book yet and it's already been such an eye opener for me. As with most of these types of books, it is full of common sense information that makes you think "why didn't I think of it like that before?" Especially for someone struggling with mild depression. . This book was captivating, and I'm almost sad that I finished it. I marked it up, too. So I will definitely reference this in the future! Love it! Highly recommend it.
