About this listen

In Grow, Sunday Times, best-selling author Frankie Bridge opens up about her journey with her maternal mental health. Part narrative exploration, part first aid manual for mothers, this audiobook will discuss the hidden growing pains which take place when you become a parent.

Its chapters cover the how-tos, what-ifs, will-Is and why-dos; anxious questions all mothers ask themselves when they believe they are doing it wrong whilst also offering a brutally honest account of how hard it can be to grow a baby and raise a child whilst you are still growing into yourself.

The audiobook will combine Frankie's mental health journey into motherhood with the notes of her psychologist, Maleha Khan, who will unpack the problems she experienced as she became a mother. It will also include additional guidance and parental advice from the UK's leading paediatrician Dr Ed Abrahamson.

Honest, relatable, real, I loved every minute of this book. It spoke to me as a Mum on some many levels & has made me realise things I didn't know about myself & parenthood in general. I've recommended it to everyone!

The best book I have read about becoming a new mum! Just want I needed! More and more people need to talk about the changes that happen and support each other ! I know this has now motivated me to help other new mums around me !

Love it Thank you frankie

A must for any new mother

I just wanted to say thank you, being pregnant and having my first baby in a pandemic has been traumatic, And your book has made me feel like everything I went though is what most new mums go through! Thank you for your honesty xx

If your a new mum you need this book!

Really honest account of what pregnancy and motherhood was like for Frankie - it felt like she was reading my mind at times! 🙃 I work in the 0-19 service and meet with a lot of new mums, I wish every one of them could hear this book and understand that no, it’s not just you. Yes, married to a footballer Frankie is in a very privileged position but she acknowledges this & even points out that if she still struggles with all the help and resources that she has then why should you feel bad that you are finding it hard? I think it was a really brave move & a powerful listen - sometimes just knowing that you are not alone feeling like this can be enough to get you through.

So powerful

This book is complete awful. It offers no practical advice for people who struggle with their mental health and parenting. Frankie talks on several occasions about how she has to have a night nanny because lack of sleep affects her mental health. I do appreciate she is trying to be honest however most people are not fortunate enough to be able to afford a night nanny. What would of been helpful is if she offered helpful advice for people who are struggling because they are sleep deprived due to having children. This book offers no helpful advice throughout the book and is also really boring and poorly written.

Don't waste your money.
